How to Troubleshoot & Replace Whirlpool AP5983729 / 661570V Dryer Drive Belt

I watched the repair video that was with the part online, even though it wasn't the same dryer it gave me enough general direction to disassemble the dryer and replace the belt instruction. No more noise yeah! 

I watched the U-Tube video on how to repair and I had it fixed in less than 15 Minutes and saved myself $100. 

Replaced the belt with some help from videos on the internet, 

Replaced with exact factory part from you guys. No hassle, fits and easy switch. Thanks. 

After I disassembled the dryer, I discovered that the belt was broken. Using a very handy video from the site I raced the belt and everything is back to normal 

We ordered the parts and watched the attached video. Super easy! 

Saw the site in a search for the part. Saw the recommended repair and watched the video. Ordered the part, installed. Job completed 

I followed the checklist in the manual until I discovered the broken belt. Then I watched the AppliancePartsPros video on YouTube showing how to change a belt. That gave me the confidence to open the dryer all the way up and fix the belt with the part I ordered. Most of the time spent was being very careful, since I didn't know how the dryer worked. Now that I know, it'll be much faster doing future repairs. 

Belt, Idler pulley. 

Replaced belt (22 years old) which was cracked and brittle. Inspected idler pulleys/rollers and just cleaned. Thoroughly vacuumed the dryer base and motor. I used a small ratchet driver that comes with cheap socket sets. The drive fits the screws with no socket. Kenmore gas model requires removing lower front panel and the 4 screws along the top back the slide the top forward.
