How to Troubleshoot & Replace Whirlpool AP6019229 / WPW10310240 Electronic Control Board

Ordered the Hight Voltage Control Board and removed and replace the faulty one. Part was shipped that day and I paid for overnight delivery. Part arrived about 3:00 PM the next day. Solved the problem and it's been working fine for about a week. Good experience all around. Biggest problem was lining up the the holes to reattach the cover plate ;-) 

Did some research and came to the conclusion that the circuit board had failed. I changed out the circuit board, and entered the proper service code. 

I unplugged the unit, took off the housing screws, unplugged and replaced the motherboard. I was a little nervous when the front had P000 across the front. But a quick google search told me I then needed to “program” it to my specific refrigerator. The Code was right inside the refrigerator on the model/SN sticker. Worked like a charm! 

After looking throughout responses over the same or similar issues I came to terms with it being the HV control board. It shipped 5 days faster than it was supposed to, and it was an extremely easy fix. A few screws to undo for the back housing area. In plug the board, a couple spots to unclip it with a flathead, and then as simple as placing the new board right where the old board went. The plugs are all different so you wont worry about mixing them up when you reattach them. You can easily look up the program code once everything is back together and the fridge works good as new. 

We relocated to our new home in Dec. The refrigerator was inspected and in working order. On Wednesday of this week, I noticed the lights had gone out on the front panel. The refrigerator was not working. I unplugged it and used an extension cord to charge the power source. We to the local convenience store to purchase three bags of ice. We placed the ice in the refrigerator to keep the food chilled. I did a search to find a video that would show me the possible fix. It looked like a simple repair. I went on the web and looked up the replacement part. I had ordered from AppliancePartsPros in the past. I rush ordered the part and received it the next morning. Within 20 minutes our refrigerator was functional. We didn't have any food spoilage. Great service from AppliancePartsPros. Thanks. 

Replaced the control board, then reprogrammed it. 

1. Discussed issue with Maytag appliance repair. The most likely problem was a defective hi-voltage power board. I obtained part# WPW10310240 and watched video for replacement. Replaced power board within 10-minutes and powered up refrigerator. Compressor started and refrigerator started to cool down. However, there was no settings for refrigerator control. 2. Tried to program per video and there was no decimal point. Deduced that I also has a faulty control panel. 3. Ordered part W10740217 control panel and easily replaced the control panel after watching your video. Success in that we had power to panel but no decimal point that would allow putting code to program refrigerator. 4. Searched internet and found another way to reset the control panel. Decimal point became visible, inserted the code, refrigerator is running as Maytag designed it. I might add the wife is overjoyed that we now have a functional refrigerator in the garage. 5. The new parts were poorly packaged; however, not damaged and fully functional. 6. Had the reset function been more apparent, I may not have needed to replace the control panel. 

Replaced the main control board and a tech was on the phone with me directing me as I initialized it. He was knowledgeable and patient. It is fine now. Five minutes on the phone is all it took. 

Research pointed to electronic board being bad. I placed an order and received a new board in two days, as promised. Simple repair took about 15 minutes. Unit started working fine and has been running fine for three days. Pleased with interaction. 

We watched a YouTube video with someone with the same problem. Then when we found the part we needed, we ordered it from APPLIANCE PARTS PROS and it arrived the NEXT DAY!!! This was the best and easiest appliance repair I've ever done! Thank you, Thank you, Thank you!
