Tressa R Lakewood , CA December 31, 2019 Appliance: Amana Microwave D1150.000 Igniter not igniting gas We replaced the entire burner as the small metal igniter holder on the bottom of the burner was rusted, disintegrating and impossible to remove. This fix would have been easier if the screws holding on the burner were not rusted and subsequently broke. All the WD40 in the world would not remove a rusted, broken screw. Lucky one removed without breaking and replaced with a stainless screw as should have been in the first place. If they were stainless at manufacture they would have not rusted/broke and this repair would be a breeze. But if the screws were stainless this repair would have not been needed. Use WD40 before attempting this repair. Replace screws with stainless. Read More... Do-It-Yourself Rating: Repair Time Estimate: Less than 15 minutes Tools: Nut Drivers, Pliers, Screwdrivers

Patterson H Magnolia , CA September 16, 2018 Burner wouldn't light The new burner fixed it. All I really needed was the ignition piece (that's included and, I believe, not sold separately) but having a shiny new burner assembly to replace the old rusty one is a bonus. Wish it came with the 2 screws, as my old ones were/are a bit rusty and I was too lazy to drive to the hardware store for new ones. Read More...
