I found out the tube burner assembly had the cross pieces on the end that were totally burned away from the main body of the burner.
Installing it was very simple. Just remove the two wires from the coils. Do not worry about placement, because you cannot interchange the 2 wires. One has 2 prongs, the other has 3 prongs.
Next, remove the 2 screws that hold the burner in place inside the round burning chamber. Do not forget to remove the screw on the back side of dryer that holds the input gas line, so the entire assembly comes out in one easy step.
Remove the wire that runs to the igniter, then gently slide the assembly out, being very careful not to bump the igniter.
After the burner assembly is removed, take out the one lone screw that holds, the igniter. Then remove the one screw that holds the tube burner. Gently twist the tube burner to detach it, install the new tube burner, and replace everything. Bingo, in just a few short minutes, your dryer is up and running, again.
Be sure you have the end of the tube burner set to either Natural Gas, or Propane. If it is not set for the correct gas, just loosen the one small screw, and set it either to NG, or P.
The most time consuming part is removing the dryer shields, to get at the burner. The tube burner is interchangeable with many other dryers, Maytag, Whirlpool, just to name a couple others.
