Kenneth M Mount Juliet , TN August 28, 2015 Door seal on my maytag neptune washer Hello All, My wife and I have been looking at washers and dryers recently. Not because ours were broken or not functioning properly, but because of a mold/mildew issue. The washer is a front load model that holds some moisture after use in the door seal/boot. Being our first front loader, we were unaware of the possible mold/mildew issue. We have owned the set for 11 years now and have lived with the issue for most of that time. My wife absolutely hates this and that is the main reason for us looking at new. As you know, you can very easily spend $2000-$3000 for the top line models. She was also not interested at all in another front loader. I purchased several parts and basically rebuilt my dryer last year but had not done anything to the washer. After thinking about it, I decided to do an internet search to see if I could replace the door boot seal. AppliancePartsPros was one of the first I checked out. After looking at their site, I quit my internet search and decided to purchase the seal from them. Any company that will make specific How To videos for their part installation is someone I want to do business with. Maybe I could have found the part for a few bucks less or maybe not. My point is; it is my pleasure to so business with an "old school" business that still cares about customer service. I'm in a service industry myself and appreciate people that care rather than a "who cares" attitude. They were Very Quick to ship my product and along with the video, our washer is perfect again and my wife is very happy. That makes me happy. Thanks Appliance Parts Pros! You will have my business for any future parts I may need from now on. Pauline N Charlotte , NC July 19, 2014 Leakage and mold on boot My husband followed the YouTube video and made the repair. I helped him hold the wire while he connected the spring as it was difficult to stretch the spring while holding the wire in place. We called an appliance store to make the repair, but they refused to work on the Maytag Neptune. We have had a good experience with our Maytag Neptune washer and dryer, so after watching the video, we decided to make the repair ourselves. I am thrilled that the part arrived so quickly and the repair was relatively easy! Thank you for the quick service and especially for the repair video. I think I saved at least $1200 as I was thinking about purchasing a whole new set and now that is not necessary. We are happy customers!! James F North Pole , AK October 20, 2015 Appliance: Model OLDER MAYTAG NEPTUNE Leaking from tub assembly and intermittent motor operation Basically rebuilt the washer from the ground up. Spent more money than a new washer but we have been so happy with the way this machine has worked over the last 19 years figured it would be money well spent. David F Las Vegas , NV March 23, 2014 Appliance: Maytag Washer- Horizontal Axis MAH5500BWW The door boot seal was moldy and had holes in it. I had trouble keeping the new seal in place while installing retaining cable, with the help of some 3m adhesive to hold it in place while installing the tub cable solved that problem. works good as new no more leaks. I wanted to thank your company for providing parts for these types of projects. It very hard to find correct parts in a appliance store here in town, and usually they would have to order it anyway and add their mark up price to it My deepest thanks to you and your company David Fraley . Stephen C Statesville , NC August 17, 2014 Appliance: Maytag Washer- Horizontal Axis MAH5500BWW My maytag neptune front loader washer door boot seal was covered in mold THANKS TO APPLIANCE PARTS PROS, THEY HAD THE DOOR BOOT SEAL PLUS A HOW TO VIDEO TO WATCH SO YOU CAN SEE WHAT IS INVOLVED IN INSTALLING THE SEAL. IT WAS VERY SIMPLE TO INSTALL EXCEPT FOR HOOKING BACK UP THE SPRING THAT HOLDS THE CABLE ON THE SEAL. THE CABLE IS WHAT LOCKS THE SEAL AROUND THE DRUM. BUT ABOUT TWO ATTEMPTS AT HOOKING IT UP WITH AN EXTRA HAND, I ACCOMPLISH IT. WHILE THE WASHER WAS OPENED UP, I DID EXTENSIVE AMOUNT OF CLEAN UP. APPLIANCE PARTS PROS IS A GREAT WEB SITE. Marianne C Milford , CT February 12, 2015 Maytag neptune front load washer door would not close ongoing mold on door seal I have a Maytag Neptune front load washer, years ago Maytag replaced the door seal under a warranty recall. The machine holds water in the drum and the door boot seal grows mold. When the door broke I was almost happy because it would force me to buy another machine. However when I started to research new machines, the price and fact that the quality of the new machines was probably inferior led me to explore fixing the machine. The local service company charges $190 to diagnose, I wasnt interested investing in an old mold infested machine. My next search led me to google "broken door" and that is when I found your repair video for the door. It gave me the confidence to go take my machine apart, once I accomplished that I then googled mold on door seal and found a video on replacing the door seal. I then ordered both parts which arrived within a few days, the videos where inspirational in leading me to fix the machine myself. Thank you for great customer service and fast delivery. Terry M Cedar Rapids , IA April 10, 2016 Appliance: Maytag Washer- Horizontal Axis MAH5500BWW Seal failed along with bearings it protected washer sounded like a loud airplane engine when running Replaced bearings and lip seal kit. Along with these I replaced the door boot seal that had significant mold (not replaced under earlier recall). Amazingly, cleaning mess left by failed seal and bearings along with residues from years of use took as long as the repair. George C Pasadena , MD December 04, 2015 Appliance: Maytag Washer- Horizontal Axis MAH3000AWW Moldy door seal I studied several online videos before attempting to replace the seal, including one from appliancepartspro. Mine was an early Neptune model (MAH3000AWW), so the videos did not exactly cover every detail. My model was not equipped with a drain hose for the door boot, so I drilled through the drum and installed one. However, the nipple on the drum was somewhat smaller diameter than the drain hose which led to leakage until I really tightened it down. The repair turned out to be more difficult than I anticipated.
