How to Troubleshoot & Replace Whirlpool AP3872692 / 8201756 Broken Tab Ice Door Kit

I went online to look up my model number, found several repair videos, I found one that matched my model, watched the door replacement video. I took my frig door apart to see what happened, why the ice dispenser door wasn't closing. When I noticed the eyelet pivot tab that was molded to the back panel was broken, I thought, "great, now I have to buy a replacement freezer door". But I went back to the replacement dispenser door parts list to see if anything could be done and I noticed a "Broken Tab Replacement Kit" with video instructions. I bought it, installed it, the problem was solved. It's cheaper and easier than getting a replacement freezer door or even a whole new refrigerator. Thanks, I hope this helps someone in the same situation. 

I watched the video on how to remove flap, noticed the tab on the right was broke. Installed kit works perfectly now.

Repaired by adding broken tab ice door kit 

Watched u-tube repair. when I figured out what I needed, I called Whirpool, they told me I had to replace door about $700. They said no other option. I researched and found your part broken tab ice door kit part # AP3872692 (8201756). Received part in 2 days. A little costly at $100, but a lot cheaper than $700. The job took about half an hour which included cleaning the old ice maker. The job was easier than I thought. My wife was extremely happy with the repair. Happy Wife, Happy Life. Thanks for having the part and shipping so fast. 

After entering the model number of my refrigerator I was able to find the parts to replace the broken ice door. I watched the video on repairing the door. I then ordered the repair parts. They arrived in a timely manner. By watching the video I was able to disassemble the broken door. Upon closer inspection I found more damage that needed replaced. I then ordered the other 2 items, when they arrived I followed all the videos and the parts were replaced and all is well. 

The delivery of the broken tab ice door kit and the repair went great. I think if Whirlpool furnished a new tenniman in the replacement kit would be helpful. I could not find the old one so I found a push nut to replace the lost one. Also, the repair video was very helpful. 

AFTER WATCHING THE VIDEO ON YOUR WEBSITE THE REPAIR WAS VERY SIMPLE. IT TOOK ME ABOUT 45 MINUTES,ALL PARTS FIT CORRECTLY. THANK YOU VERY MUCH FOR THE VIDEOS ON YOUR WEBSITE THEY ARE VERY HELPFUL. REMENBER ONLY REMOVE THE TWO TABS WITH THE HOLES , THE THIRD TAB IS WHAT WILL RETAIN THE DOOR PIN LAST TAB THAT ONE IS WHAT KEEPS THE DOOR PIN IN IF YOU DON'T HAVE THE RETAINER CLIP. CHECK TWICE REMOVE ONCE GOOD LUCK
