How to Troubleshoot & Replace Whirlpool AP3872692 / 8201756 Broken Tab Ice Door Kit

APP has the nicest video of the several "how to replace ice door" I reviewed, so I bought their kit. I first used the procedure to take things apart and confirm the problem - broken tab on right side. So I needed the kit with the aluminum frame. Actually, I really only needed the frame as it looked like someone had replaced the basic kit prior. Actual installation followed the video. I had the use a blade to trim the remains of the plastic tab. One did not break off enough to provide clearance for the new bracket. I also had to add a bend to the auxiliary bracing tab. It did not even touch the aluminum bracket when first fitted.

Each step in the video was accurate and my refrigerator model, being a bit newer, was even easier to repair than the model used in the video. The kit was exactly what was needed to replace the ice door and came with all the necessary parts.
