Arthur G Byron , IL October 29, 2016 Appliance: Maytag Undercounter Dishwasher MDBH979AWB3 Dishwasher inadequate cleaning door gasket leaking Watched the video and felt more confident afterwards. Followed the instructions, and, although it wasn't the exact model I own in the video, it was close enough. Removed the racks, spray arm and wand. Removed the filter and cleaned the garbage out of the screen (mine just popped off with a screwdriver). Removed the 4 screws to access the chopper. Slid the old chopper out, and used an 11/16" wrench to compress the spring on the chopper and hold it in place while inserting it onto the motor shaft. Checked the fit and function, replaced the chopper cover, re-assembled the internals in reverse order, and moved on to the gasket. Peeled off the old gasket, lubricated the new gasket with rubber friendly synthetic lube, and pressed the new gasket in place. Be sure to check the orientation of the gasket before you pull the old one out.
