How to Troubleshoot & Replace Whirlpool AP6008281 / WP3387747 Dryer Heating Element

Replaced the heating element. 

I watched a YouTube video. I cleaned out all of the lint and swapped out the heating coil. My 26 year old Kenmore dryer lives for another decade I hope! 

Well we pulled the bottom front of the dryer off and then took the bolts out of the heating element bracket. Which was on the right side, Unplugged the wiring first. pulled the heating element out of the metal sleeve a replaced with the new one, replug wiring and screwed down bolts and dryer is working great just like a new dryer. 

I ordered the Thermal Cutoff kit - (2 pieces) & a new heating element. 

Replaced the heating element. 

Replace heating element. Since this dyer is old I also replaced the Hi-limit thermostat and thermal cut off.

Tested with ohm meter and the element was open. 

Replaced the heating element.
