How to Troubleshoot & Replace Whirlpool AP6016630 / WPW10190981 Icemaker Assembly

Replaced with a new ice maker. 

I talked to Suzanne. I gave her the model number & the serial number of my Maytag refrigerator.. She sent me the exact video for my refrigerator on how to replace my ice maker along with the correct part number. The video was perfect along with the replacement ice maker assembly. Now we have ICE. My wife is very happy. Thank you, Suzanne and AppliancePartsPros.com for all your help. 

Purchased Icemaker Assembly. Watched the video included with the Assembly and swapped it out. 

Purchased a new icemaker assembly. 

Watched a YouTube video on how to repair an icemaker. 

Replaced ice maker, but I had to swap the old water cup to the replacement ice maker. 

I tried replacing the filer, then the water valve. Neither of those fixed the problem. Changing out the ice maker assembly itself fixed the problem. This was an incredibly quick and easy repair and the installation video was very helpful. 

At first I removed the ice-maker to see if there was any physical damage such as cracks. I found nothing that an untrained eye could find. I Googled the problem and couldn't find anything definitive. I emailed the problem to an on-line appliance place I've done business with in the past and nobody got back to me. Then I found Appliance Parts Pros and explained the problem. I received advise from Elizabeth. That didn't work out and I emailed her back giving her more details. She gave me more valuable feedback. With that feedback I purchased the part from Appliance Parts Pros knowing full well that the part cost a bit more than their competitors. The part came in two days and I installed the part on 09/30/18 using their YouTube video and now my ice maker is working as it should. Their knowledge and their help has tremendous value. I know now that I can count on and trust Appliance Parts Pros in the future. 

Replaced. 

After disconnecting and removing the device from the freezer, I de-iced the build-up and allowed it to dry. When I reconnected it, I was still not getting any ice. I replaced the icemaker (standard delivery got the part to me in one day!) and I swapped out the icemaker in about 20 minutes. The video on appliancepartspros.com was very helpful to me, even though the refrigerator in the video was not the same model as the one I own. New icemaker began making ice within an hour of replacement.
