How to Troubleshoot & Replace Whirlpool AP5805371 / W10619006 Dishwasher Door Latch Assembly

I replaced the door latch assembly. The repair video here made it very easy. 

I replaced the door lock/switch. It was very easy after watching the how-to video. I would recommend a second set of hands to hold the front cover in place when reassembling the door. Also if you have and error code I found the way to clear it on this model was to press any three buttons in sequence (next to each other) three times in a row and the computer will reset. Press cancel after all of the lights on the control panel come on and it will now operate normally. 

Replacing this latch and sensor fixed the problem. It was an easy swap on my old Kitchenaid, which still does a great job on the dishes. Hopefully it has a lot of life left! 

I posted the problem to your Dishwasher Repair Forum. I received a response (from That Guy) within the hour and ordered the recommended parts (Door Latch Assembly). The blog response also included a very helpful repair video from your company. It has been two days and replacing the door latch assembly seems to have solved the problem. 

Replaced the door latch and catch. very simple job. 

The previous latch was visibly worn (about 8 years old). Unscrewed most of the Torx screws inside the door, except the bottom ones which I loosened - I didn't want to the whole front panel to come off. Pulled out the old latch, disconnected its plug, replaced with the new latch - I didn't change the metal tab. Hand tightened the Torx screws, confirmed the door latched properly, and the dishwasher was up and running again.

Purchased a new dishwasher latch and installed in about an hour. Works Great!!!

My uncle finally removed the old door latch assembly and it was different from the one I had ordered for him. He then Googled the model number on the door and confirmed the correct part number. So I get to return this one. These people have been very prompt in their response and very gracious.
