How to Troubleshoot & Replace Whirlpool AP5805371 / W10619006 Dishwasher Door Latch Assembly

Cycle lights would come on, but machine wouldn’t run. Replaced door latch and the problem was solved. 

Ordered the recommended parts from AppliancePartPros.com. (latch assembly) It arrived on time (very fast) followed the video tutorial(#20 torx) and had it up and running with in 15 minutes. 

Our older Kenmore dishwasher door became increasingly hard to close. Had to slam the door shut to close it Stumbled across the video showing the rather easy steps to replace the latch assembly and did some searches on the replacement part. AppliancePartsPros.com had the same part and was 25% cheaper (including shipping) than most of the others selling the same part. Order/shipment was easy, and delivery came faster than I expected. The video was dead on about the process was, and I had the part replaced in about 5-10 mins. T-15 Torx and a small flathead screwdriver are all I needed to complete the repair. 

Replaced the Control Panel (keypad) and Door Latch Assembly. The old ribbon cable had corroded traces. 

Replaced the Door Latch Assembly in 20 minutes. Easy fix. 

I just took the old door latch out and put the new one in and the revised part fit and worked perfectly 

I ordered a new door switch and a new keypad. The part was shipped the next day and arrived only one day after that. With the holiday and weekend it still arrived so quickly. It was an easy repair. The videos were helpful and this part was cheaper by a lot compared to other appliance websites. 

Followed the video instructions and works like a charm! 

I replaced the latch mechanism. I googled why my start button was flashing and appliance parts pros came up on first page. They suggested replacing latch because it was faulty. It worked. Saved me a lot of money. Thank you. 

Replacing the door latch assembly did the trick. The directions were clear and the video helpful until the part about replacing the latch. I managed to push it in too far, past where the clip sits. Luckily, I didn't let go. I thought I was going to need to take the tub apart to get it out. After a short walk to calm myself, I started to look for how that might be accomplished and found a little cutout above where the latch sits. Using a couple of thin flat head screwdrivers, I was able to press down the prongs and pull the latch out. Then, I could seat the latch properly. All was good from there. A technical issue on the video; I was not able to expand it to full screen. I don't know if that would've helped me with the latch or not. A warning in the narration might have. All in all, it was fine.
