How to Troubleshoot & Replace Whirlpool AP6023438 / WPW10619844 Lid Lock Assembly

Replaced LID lock 

Replaced door latch 

I did a few searches on youtube and narrowed down that our lid lock/light was not operating. If it is not working, the washer will not go into any wash cycle. Using model/part numbers, I went to appliancepartspro.com and found exactly what I needed. The site also offered a video that really help. The price was very reasonable and the shipping time was a day and a half. The new lid lock looked different but fit perfectly and worked as it should. 

Ordered new lid lock you'll need a small crowbar to pry the lid on the machine open 

Replaced the lid lock assembly. 

The replacement part arrived from AppliancePartsPros.com in 1 day! I followed the tutorial video linked on the page that sold the part and replaced the lid lock in about 30 minutes. 

I looked at Youtube video's and found the best dyi to repair the lock. I looked on line for the proper part number and found a very wide price spread. My local repair service wanted $189. Different online offers were closer to $100. I ordered the same part from AppliancePartsPros.com for $72. I RECEIVED THE PART THE VERY NEXT DAY BY USPS. Very satisfied customer CDH 

Replaced it…easy fix…15 min. New part is completely different in color and shape…but it works. Thank you for the fix-it video. Kind of an expensive part. 

I replaced the lid latch and bezel. Very easy to repair. I ordered parts on Friday at 3 PM and they arrived the next day on Saturday; excellent service and the correct parts. 

Ordered a new Lid Lock Assembly. Watch the how-to video. Replaced the broken lid lock with a new one.
