How to Troubleshoot & Replace Whirlpool AP6023438 / WPW10619844 Lid Lock Assembly

Ordered a new Lid Lock Assembly. Watch the how-to video. Replaced the broken lid lock with a new one. 

Replaced the door Lid lock assembly. 

Diagnosed it as the Lid Lock Assembly. When I took it apart to look further, I noticed a broken fuse on the small circuit board. The part was very easy to replace and I'm grateful to have my washing machine working again. 

Used Yoiutube to assist in the installation. 

I watched a video on YouTube and ordered the suggested part. 

Watched the video supplied by AppliancePartsPros. The Maytag was slightly different from the Kenmore in the video. But very close. The top did not ‘hinge’ back. Had to remove the 2 metal tabs with 2 screws each and pull the top forward to remove it. It did not have spring release tabs. Otherwise pretty much straightforward. The replacement part did not look the same as the original, but the fit and function were good. 

Purchased a new OEM door lock from Appliance Parts Pros and watched the repair video and it was a easy replacement and fix. 

Watched their video on YouTube, ordered the part online and fixed the issue within an hour. The latches on my machine were very difficult to get out so that ate up a lot of time. Overall I'm very impressed we were able to fix this without a professional. Speedy shipping too, I think I got the part the next day.
