Holly M Fallston , MD October 17, 2014 Appliance: Whirlpool Washer WTW7800XW0 Plastic broke on lid on whirlpool cabrio washer We ordered a new lid and received it the next day!! Couldn't believe how fast it came. Ordering was easy through my on-line chat with your company rep. I'm sorry I forgot his name. The lid was very easy to replace - just the removal of a few star head screws, slide the old lid off the hinges, slide the new one on, and tighten the screws back up. One of the hinges was rusty so probably should have replaced that as well, but didn't. Only wish the white lid wasn't $85.00 more than a black one. Given that, Appliance Parts Pro was about $40.00 less expensive than the whirlpool (marcone) parts site. Daniel L Valley City , OH December 21, 2017 Lid was broken due to seized hinges. Be sure to buy all the parts for both sides. I replaced the lid and the left side hardware earlier this year and 6 months later the other side seized, cracking my new lid. This time I replaced all the hardware on both sides. I hope to get another 5 years out of this machine. Read More... 5 People found this story helpful Do-It-Yourself Rating: Repair Time Estimate: 15-30 minutes Tools: Nut Drivers, Screwdrivers
Donald P Sedalia , MO December 11, 2014 My fairly new whirlpool washer lid separated at the hinge and wouldn't close properly I replaced the entire lid assembly , which took about 15 minutes. There are two screws on each side which must be removed. Then, pull the old lid out toward you and remove. Reverse procedure with the new lid. Works great, just a shame the lid wasn't engineered properly to not separate under normal use. Jim Y Woodbridge , VA November 25, 2016 Appliance: Whirlpool Washer WTW7800XW0 Plastic frame on glass lid of whirlpool cabrio washer cracked Opened broken lid and removed the two screws on both sides of the plastic frame. Lifted the lid out of the holders. Placed new lid into holders (with lid open) and replaced the screws. Finished! Requires Torx screwdriver which are popular and in most homes. Amazed how fast the lid arrived via FedEx (had indicated to ship via standard shipping) and it took two days as I ordered on a Saturday and they shipped on the next working day, Monday and it arrived Tuesday.
