How to Troubleshoot & Replace Whirlpool AP5985148 / W10822259 Condenser Fan Motor

Ordered a new motor replaced in 15 min. The fridge is working like new. 

There was water on the floor on the side where the condensation pan was and areas on the outside of the fridge were warm. A clear sign the motor has stopped working. It's a very easy thing to replace and more than a lot less than replacing the fridge and maybe 30 minutes of work. It's a few screws for the rear cover, three for the motor, one to remove the fan itself, and an electrical plug. No outside repairman is needed nor his bill. 

Replaced with a Factory OEM Part. The online video was very helpful. 

Replaced condenser fan motor. 

Replaced the condenser fan motor. 

Removed cover from the bottom rear of fridge and discovered the condenser fan locked up. Removed old fan motor and ordered a new one from APP. I replaced the fan motor and connector. Vacuumed out fridge bottom and replaced the cover. APP parts are easy to find and order. You receive them in a timely manner. I saved the service call labor charges and I'm sure the motor was of less cost too. 

Replaced motor- the replacement of the motor was actually very easy and straightforward. What gave me trouble and took extra time was that I had some difficulty removing all of the screws that hold the motor frame in place because of tight quarters and I didn't have the best tools for the job. I would recommend this repair for any DIYer. Just make sure you have a small socket set that may need to fit into the tight areas and your job will go much smoother. 

Ordered new condenser motor. Installed, problem solved. 

Fan motor had gone bad. Replaced the condenser fan motor and all is good! 

I bought a new motor from appliance parts pros. Replaced bad with new. Converted the old fan on the new motor.
