How to Troubleshoot & Replace Whirlpool AP6024038 / WPW10757217 Circulation Motor

Replaced Circualtion Motor 

Replaced Circulation pump motor. (Removed old pump found motor pump shaft seized up. 

I went to google, searched for, Dish washer will not properly rinse dishes, leaves a white residue, It showed several possibilities, and I knew the dish washer pods I use are top brand, I went to Appliance Parts Pros.com, used their troubleshooting guide, where they have a list of what might be the cause, along with what the percentage of each is, i.e. I think that the circulation pump was around 60% possibility of being the issue, and the others were much lower, By Trade, I'm a mechanic, with over 35 years experience, so I do understand troubleshooting, no matter what it is, Here is my secret, lol! Before you purchase a part from APP.com, know this! You can reach out to them by Phone, Email, Chat before and even after your parts purchase, all though I would say start at before. That's why I'm confident in using APP.com, They back up what they sell. 

I took the dishwasher apart, cleaned the dirty parts, and identified the problem being a rusted-until-it-crumbled-into-dust ball bearing attached to the circulation motor’s shaft. At first I thought I could just replace the bearing, but after some effort I found that even removing the rusted bearing was impossible without damaging the motor. I ordered this new motor, making sure that my Whirlpool dishwasher SKU was listed as a compatible. In a few days I had the new motor, installed it just as I had removed it but in reverse, put the whole dishwasher back together and in position under my countertop, and ran it without any dishes but with an Affresh tablet. It has been working better (and quieter) than ever before! I’m so glad I didn’t have to search for/buy a whole new dishwasher that fit in my counter space perfectly and have to mess around with connecting it to my garbage disposal and hot water line. 

I replaced it with the circulation motor that I ordered from you and it works well. 

I bought a certified Whirlpool part and viewed the provided video prior to attempting the repair. The hardest part was disconnecting/ reconnecting the unit and pulling the dishwasher out. The actual time for removing the motor and installing the new one was about 1/4 hr. The noise level returned to a low level (I had to check it to make sure it was on). 

After cleaning all the filters and determining that wasn’t the problem. Further investigation suggested the circulation pump was causing the noise.even though I’d pulled the circulation pump to clean it, and it appeared to be OK. After watching the video on the AppliancePartsPros.com website, I decided that replacing the pump would be easy. Ordered the part from AppliancePartsPros.com and to my surprise it arrived in 24hrs, despite my rural location. Installed the pump and now the dishwasher is back to normal. Well within the capabilities of most people . 

The culprit impeller from the motor got broken. I decided to replace the whole motor, since it was not clear how the impeller broke and it could happen again. Just followed the video and intall a brand new motor.

I replaced the pump/motor and the food chopper which I found was no good once I took the pump out. I was so glad you had the video for me to watch. It was a great help.
