How to Troubleshoot & Replace Whirlpool AP5650269 / W10536347 Washer Drain Pump

I had an issue with the washer once before, being it's about 8 yrs old that's not bad. Last time a sock managed to get caught between the tub and plastic shell. Any how, this time drain cycle wasn't working, so I took the washer apart to get to the drain from the inside. After watching Matt from AppliancePartsPros.com, this was done with relative ease. My wife and I took everything off and cleaned out the drain (which had about 6" of hair and lint stuck in it) and gave the rest of the parts a good cleaning. Put everything back together and didn't have any "extra" parts when we were done. Ran a cycle, no luck. No problem, Appliance Parts Pros got my back. I looked up their website and ordered the part I was looking for. There was a place to put model number in to make sure your part was right. They had the part in stock and a video to show you the steps if you needed it. These guys thought of everything. My part showed up on time and I great condition. The part went on without a hitch. Another quality job done with the experts at Appliance Parts Pros. Thanks for the next 10000 washes. 

I ordered a replacement drain pump from AppliancePartsPros.com. After watching their step-by-step remove & replace video & their website suggested a high probability that the drain pump was the issue. I closely followed that video, & after 3 washing cycles, there is no water on the floor. Apparently, my problem is fixed! 

Replace the pump. 

Remove and replace drain pump. Very easy! 

Looked up the part on Appliancepartspros.com and ordered it. 

Diagnosed by observing a tiny fracture in the body of the pump where a drop of water would appear every 10 seconds or so while in use, which after a few loads of laundry would leave a decent puddle on my laundry room floor. Looked up the problem on appliancepartspros.com and bought the pump for $140 (after taxes and shipping). Part came two days later and the plug cover was cracked but figured it wouldn't affect the parts operation so installed anyway. Took about 30 mins to replace part. Seems to be working just fine now. 

Replaced drain pump. Easily done. Exactly matched Appliance Parts Pros video. Disassembled old pump to find impeller in good condition. Problem was over heating in motor controller. 

Replaced pump after ensuring there was no physical blockage in the old pump or tubing. 

Used your website to research the problem (THANKS!!). Purchased the recommended part. Received the part exactly on time and installed per the great how to video. Thank you so much!! 

Installing the pump was so easy to do. Getting the washing machine out of it slot was the hardest part.
