How to Troubleshoot & Replace Whirlpool AP6023357 / WPW10605427 Drain Pump

I used Youtube to get some information. Apparently, there are two common and fairly cheap parts failures -- water level sensor $35, and water pump $50. It was the pump. It took about 1/2 hour to do this, But it took hours to learn about the machine and get the right part. AppliancePartsPros.com go me the right part the first time and fast. THANK YOU !!!! 

Ordered the part late Thursday night. I had it by noon Saturday and swapped it out and was back to working in 30 minutes. It was great to get the part so fast. So we weren't out of a washer all weekend when we could be doing laundry. 

Replaced with a new pump. 

The fix was a new pump. Works great now. Great website easy to navigate thanks! 

I've gotten this error a couple of times before and have always been able to clear it by cleaning the drain filter. This time, however, the drain filter was clear. I tried running a load again and I noticed that it didn't sound like the pump was starting. I guessed that the pump itself was bad, so I ordered a new pump and paid a few bucks extra for next-day delivery. Since I'd already pulled the machine out and taken off the back cover to get to the drain filter, installing the new pump literally took less than 5 minutes. There are only 4 bolts, so as long as you have the right type of socket to get into the very tight area (would have been easier if I could have tipped the washer and accessed it from the bottom, but there's not enough room to do that in my laundry room) it's a very quick procedure to take the old one out and put the new one in. Appliance Parts Pros made it super easy to find the exact right part and I was able to fix my own washer and save a lot of $$. 

You tube helped me try a few things first: unplug, empty filter from drain pump and both didn’t work. Called this company and talked with specialist. He and I both agreed it needed new pump. So for 60 with shipping it fixed my error codes and I am back in action! Thanks so much! Very easy part to install! 

I tried cleaning it out, but that did not correct the problem, so I ordered a new pump and replaced it. The replacement took about 15 minutes. When I plugged the unit back in, the washing machine still would not work, but after doing a Google search, I read how to clear error codes and get the unit back working again, which simply was a matter of pushing some of the buttons in a specific series. (I could not find this info in the owner's manual.) The washing machine then came back on and functioned as it is supposed to and our Housekeeping crew made me their hero of the day! 

Take back panel off. Tilt machine back and stabilize to prevent falling on you. Remove the 4 screws and connection. Do not be intimidated, quite a easy repair. 

Did an online search of potential problems......found there were a number of YouTube videos to help diagnose.....removed the pump from the washer, which was relatively easy. With part number in hand, I did a google search and www.appliancepartspros.com came up, they had the best reviews, great price, in stock, and guaranteed same-day shipping.......I payed the small increase for next day delivery. Received the pump as promised, next day, installed it and now my washer is fixed.....great service, excellent company. Thanks
