How to Troubleshoot & Replace Whirlpool AP6023357 / WPW10605427 Drain Pump

I contacted AppliancePartsPros and gave them my symptoms and failure codes and they were able to diagnose the problem and send the correct parts to resolve the issue. This is the 3rd or 4th time I've used their service since 2012 and they have been correct on each and every repair issue I've had. Many thanks for the professional advice and help! 

This model I took off the back panel to change it out. I did lean the machine to make it easier. Only 4 screws and pliers for the hose clamp. Put the back panel on and was through. I ordered the wrong pump first. I went back online and chatted with a representative. He helped me without hesitation. I was shown the right part and ordered. Received my return form. A few days later I checked on my return. Again...I was amazed.. She handled that so fast. I was completely satisfied. All I can say to them is... Thank you for such outstanding service... 

1. Installed new water pump. 2. Replaced severed bolts holding rotor on. 

Removed the back cover. (Glad I used my power tool to remove all the screws) I then removed the sheared off part of the bolt using drill and easy-out tool. It was a straightforward install of the new bolt. I added a little bit of blue Loctite even though the bolt already had some dry thread sealer. I torqued it down enough to hold everything snug. I also replaced the cap on the water pump filter as I cracked it when I removed it. Tip: Don't use pliers even with a rag to cushion or be more careful than I did. The cap is a discontinued part but Appliance Parts Pros had one! I also ordered a new water pump but I didn't need it. Keeping it for future though as it was not an expensive part. The washer works great now. 

I replaced the drain pump and hose which had a flapper valve that wasn’t sealing properly. Easy repair. Took about 15 minutes total and my washing machine is Soooo much quieter!!! 

First I veiwed the site watched video, and attempted to clean out the pump to no avail. Ordered new pump on a Sunday, paid extra but had it installed tuesday. Pump was exactly the right part and fit & functioned flawlessly. I have always & certainly will continue to use AppliancePartsPros for ALL of my appliance part needs. The hardest part of the replacement was moving the heavy washer full of water out far enough to access the pump. You will need a catch pan ( i used tupperware container) to fit under the pump to catch water. Don't open the plug the whole way, just enough to drain water you will probably have to empty the catch pan several times before removing the pump. 

Simple fix! Lookup code on the internet, watch quick YouTube video, order the part from Appliance Parts Pros, replace washer pump. Super simple and much less expensive than having a local company do the repair. 

Replaced drain pump, pump was over heating, has internal temp sensor, would work periodically. 

I recorded the part number, looked it up online and it directed me to this website. I ordered the part, which came within 2 days. I watched the videos on how to locate the part under my washer, then I very easily changed the part myself. After taking off the old part, I could see how it got damaged from coins and screws that may have been left in my pockets before doing the laundry, as I am a construction contractor. The washing machine works as good as new and I now know how to change this part and access other parts for future repairs. This saved me the time and the money of hiring an appliance repair person, who would have marked up the part, charged for the service call and the installation, not to mention waiting for him or her without use of my washer. By doing it myself, my machine was up and running within 2 days! 

Replaced the water pump in our Maytag washer. We lived with a barely-functioning washer for four weeks while we waited for the repairman to order the part. He ordered a different part, took a vacation, and then called us back. His mistake was telling me what part he had ordered. We had the washer working within 48 hours of placing the order online and it took me less than 15 minutes to install the new part.
