How to Troubleshoot & Replace Whirlpool AP6023956 / WPW10730972 Water Pump

Went on-line & looked up Error Code F-21. After reading the probable causes, water pump seemed to be the main problem with this error. Watch the video and it is very simple to replace. It is a pain to get in & out unless you have the correct tools for the job as it is tight to try and get your hands in their with a pair of pliers. 

My daughter wash 3 large cotton quilts. We detected a slight burnt smell and noticed a SUD error. After using my limited skills to troubleshoot, I was reasonably certain it was the water pump. The new pump from Appliance Parts Pros actually made it to me a day earlier than stated, fantastic service! I was debating one on the super cheap knockoffs available on Amazon. I'm so glad I did not. Ordered a new pump from you guys and it got to me the next day. Installed the new pump that night and had everything put together and working in about 25 minutes. Hardest part was removing the 3 1/4 inch screws on the bottom panel. I suggest leaning washer back some if possible. 

Replaced with the drain pump. 

Removed and installed, went great. Thank you for y’all services, right on time. 

I watched the video to see if this repair was something I felt I could tackle myself. I also called Appliance Parts Pros and spoke with a Help tech. She advised me to first check the water pump filter and advised me how to do that. The filter was filled to very much stuff, including coins, a pen, paper clip and an entire beaded necklace! After cleaning the filter I re-tired to run the washer with a Light load. It tried to pump the water out, but was not able to complete the cycle. I ordered the part from Appliance Parts Pros. It arrived in a few days. I watched the repair video again to refresh my memory of the proper order to install the items and replaced the pump. It took me about 20 minutes! The hardest part was grasping the hose clamps with the pliers to re-install the hoses. The washer is running perfectly again and it is much quieter, like it was when it was new. Made sure the drain hose was not stopped up. Made sure the filter was not stopped up. Problem had to be the pump. Went to Appliance Parts Pros, watched a video on how to replace the pump, ordered a pump and put it on. The repair was much easier than I had expected. The video was a tremendous help. The pump arrived much earlier than I expected.
