How to Troubleshoot & Replace Whirlpool AP6023956 / WPW10730972 Washer Water Pump

We ordered the part . It came directly to the house in two days. We watched a repair tutorial online and had it fixed in thirty minutes. The repair only cost eighty dollars instead of two hundred quoted by a repair man. We were thrilled and the washer works like new! 

Ordered new pump on Tuesday night, watched repair video & took out old pump on Wednesday, new pump delivered at 2 pm on Thursday. It took me holding the pump while hubby worked the hoses & clamps into place. Plugged in wiring harness, secured pump back into slots & we are back in business! And amazed at how quiet it is again!! Probably took 20 minutes to install, mostly because of maneuvering the clamps around in a tight space with big hands! *** attaching the hoses & wiring harness outside the washer is highly recommended!!! Wow great service, videos and expert advise on the phone. Found the hidden manual inside the bottom cover. Ordered the pump found the filter we didn't know was there filled with change. Done saved over 250.00 doing it with Appliance PartsPros.com. Old fashion Customer Service 10 + 

Cleaned filter, then replaced pump assembly 

I don't know how common this problem is with the Duet washer but the pumps only seem to last 3-4 years. I bought this appliance new in 2007. Replaced the drain pump in 2010, 2013 and again in 2017. The latest pump design is significantly easier to remove & clean the strainer for the drain pump. Other than the recurrence of pump failure the procedure to replace is as easy as the video shows.e
