How to Troubleshoot & Replace Whirlpool AP6023956 / WPW10730972 Washer Water Pump

New pump 

Replace water pump : - remove lower front cover of the washer - disassemble two drain hoses - remove old pump and install a new one 

Ordered a new pump and replaced it. Took less than fifteen minutes to replace the pump. 

Bought drain pump and with any mechanical ability and common sense it was an easy fix. It really took about 15 to 20 minutes.

Replaced water pump. Come to find out pump was full of change. So remember to empty your pockets before washing. New pump worked great 

Replaced it 

Googled the problem. Found a video of a guy withe the same issue. Toom 10 minutes to pull out the pump. The trap was FULL of coins, earrings, dog hair, etc. Impeller on the pump was shot and pump moter was full of water. Logged onto AppliancePartsPros.com, found the replacement. 10 minute install! BAM!! Probably saved $500 in repair costs! Washing machine has never run better! 

Replaced pump 

Appliance Part Pro had the specific part, just put the new pump back soon as I took the old off.
