How to Troubleshoot & Replace Whirlpool AP6023956 / WPW10730972 Washer Water Pump

Replaced 

I check my drain filter and it was not all plugged up--I did have enough coins to get me a donut and cup of coffee. Went through allot of troubleshooting on line but none seemed to help until I went to Appliance Parts Pros.com and they recommended to check if there was some play in the impellor shaft of the drain pump--I did feel a small amount so I went ahead and ordered and replaced the drain pump. A relative easy job only took about 30 min. So far so good my machine has not failed and I've done four loads. Normally it would do one ok them would fail on the second. I would then have to unplug the machine to reset the computer and them start all over again. 

I ordered the drain pump on Sunday evening. It arrived Wednesday morning. I am disabled so I had my nephew install it. It took him only about 10 minutes. We ran a rinse/spin cycle. It worked just fine. I had also ordered the affresh cleaner so we ran a washer clean cycle which also worked great. We did the weeks laundry, everything went without a hitch. Excellent service from you. Thank you for your help and great and fast service. Your video on line was a big help.

I replaced the drain pump, and also cut down on the Tide he laundry detergent which was causing too much suds in the washer. 

I ordered the pump from appliancepartspros.com. it came in the mail and my husband had the pump swithched out in 30 minutes and my front loader whirlpool washer of 9 years old is like new. the pump sit in front and very easy to get too. dont need to move the washer from its place.

Replaced drain pump - found a trouble shooting video and followed the link it provided to his sight for the parts necessary for the repair. My parts arrived much quicker than expected and replacing the worn pump was almost effortless. Washer back to working like new. No more F21 codes to haunt you while trying to do laundry. 

Ordered new pump & installed it
