How to Troubleshoot & Replace Whirlpool AP6012237 / WP8268433 Spray Arm Seal

We ordered a new middle spray arm and spray arm seal, easy to replace and the arm is now moving(without hitting) and cleaning the upper rack just like new !

Discovered stripped threads on lower spray arm and replaced it with a new one. Also replaced spray arm seal,spray arm bearing,spinner kit,and food chopper. (chopper was clogged) Now it works like new! 

I replaced the spray arm seal and center manifold. The old seal looked slightly worn and the old manifold mating/spinning surface was thinned out. 

I discovered that the water inlet manifold was cracked. Installed the new part which greatly improved the issue but was not completely resolved. Upon further inspection it looked like the arm bearing had seen better days so, since the machine is ten years old I opted to replace the rest of the assembly. Parts came in a timely manner and the repair was easy - top rack dishes are now spotless! By the way I am a fifty something female with no prior dishwasher repair experience - AppliancePartsPros gave me the confidence to at least try to fix it with their very helpful follow along videos. Thank you you saved me a very costly service call!

Changed the Spray arm seal, Changed the Sprayarm bearing and the 3rd level wash spray. It is as good as new now (for about $20.00). Watched the videos and became an "expert". really easy. I also removed the lower screws and removed all debris (food residue) from the inlet of the pump. this improved the water flow. (no parts needed, just a star screw driver) very easy. 

Restored pressure to the top rack spray arm by replacing the water supply tube. The tube in my model has two valves, one of them is supposed to be closed while the other is open and supplying water to the top rack spray arm. This fixed my washer and now it's working fine. 

Replace the entire assembly, manifold, spray arm with seal and water probe. Took 5 minutes. Problem solved! 

I replaced the chopper, spray arm seal and 3rd level wash spinner. Bought all 3 because I didn't know for sure which was bad. as it turned out the chopper was the faulty broken part. The video on how to do it helped a lot. Took 15 minutes to replace all of them.
