How to Troubleshoot & Replace Whirlpool AP6010168 / WP63907 Suspension Spring

Replaced the 3 horizontal suspension springs and the vertical hold-down spring. Although the banging sound likely came from the broken/missing drum suspension pads which were replaced as well. 

After watching some videos, including the ones on AppliancePartsPros.com, I determined that the springs on the washer were the issue with the drum being loose. I ordered replacement springs and they arrived in about a day they were easy to install took about 20 minutes and then the washer was up and running again! I didn't need any special tools, just a screwdriver, and pliers. A locking wrench would have been helpful for removing and replacing the springs but the pliers worked fine. 

Replaced suspension springs and suspension pads, washer machine stopped walking and vibrating. 

I looked up the problem on the website, and parts were suggested. There were very helpful how-to videos along with the parts description. I ordered a tub suspension spring, and the three centering springs. They arrived in 2 days. With the video, I was able to remove the washer cabinet housing, and expose the tub. I found the on suspension spring was indeed broken, and replaced it. I also changed out the three other tub springs, as our kitchenaid superba washer is almost 30 years old. I put it al back together, with a total job time of about 45 minutes. Our machine is working perfectly again. I am very pleased with the whole experience with appliance parts pros. I ordered a new water pump from AppliancePartsPros.com and replaced it in about an hour. Very easy to install and I am very satisfied. 

Put new springs on it. 

Put all new springs on. 

Looked it up on YouTube and replaced the tube centering springs, as directed by your video. After replacing the springs, tub still leaned. The realized it also needed leveling. Springs were weak and didn’t have the strong tension, so they needed replaced. I also ordered your tub cleaning tabs and they worked really good. I am so happy. The hardest part was putting the top, front and side panels (all one piece) back correctly. Thank you so much. 

I replaced all four suspension springs and that fixed the problem. 

Removed the cabinet and found the ring that clips over the inner tub came loose.
