How to Troubleshoot & Replace Whirlpool AP5650274 / W10542314 Gasket And Strike Kit

I placed the new seal in warm water to loosen it up. It was 1 and a half inches too long. I cut a piece off and it fit. It came with a locking door clip, which I did not need. I ran a test on my dishwasher. It seems to not leak. I used my finger to press the new seal in the grove. 

Replaced the tub gasket and strike using the kit purchased from this site. 

Replaced the door gasket (watched the video to see how) Replacement seal arrived with a metal clip in the package but no explanation of how to use it. Watched more YouTube and finally determined metal clip (latch) was to replace the plastic door latch that often failed. Kept my old metal latch (strike plate) and threw away the one provided with the seal. The door latches properly. 

From reading articles and watching videos, it was easy to identify that a bad gasket was my likely problem. With the dishwasher model number, it was easy to identify the correct part. The new gasket arrived to my home quickly. It was easy to install, after watching instructional videos. It took me less than ten minutes. After letting the dishwasher remain closed overnight after installing the gasket, there is no leak! Thank you! 

The dishwasher is an old Kenmore and I didn’t know the replacement part number. This part number was a good one but it was a little too big, but it was easy to fix it and it is now working fine. The only problem I have is that it came without any instructions on how to install it and no return documents, but I did not have any problems or need to return anything. Thank you so much for the online support, You guys are great. 

Replaced tub seal and lower door seal kit. The hardest thing to do was R&R the door springs. 

Replaced the Gasket & Strike Kit around the door. 

Used recommended gasket. Cleaned the groove after removing the old gasket, Cut to length as needed with scissors after we were certain there was plenty left.. Used a nylon tool to press the gasket into the groove. Used it two times now without leaks. 

We ordered the new gasket seal for around the door. It fixed the problem, much cheaper than a new dishwasher. 

Very easy repair. Warmed up gasket in hot water, watched video. Installed in minutes without tools. I cleaned the debris.
