The latch was stuck locked on our Whirlpool top load washing machine. It would run fine, then the latch would get stuck shut and locked, making it impossible to access our clean clothes! All in all, the repair took about 15 minutes. All you need is the right drivers to get the back panel off the machine, a putty knife, and a 6 point star screwdriver if you're also replacing the striker like we chose to.
