How to Troubleshoot & Replace Whirlpool AP6008309 / WP3390719 Dryer Thermal Fuse

The owners manual led me through the steps to be able to find the defective part. A multimeter confirmet the problem. The problem was a result of lint build up in duct work near the blower , which shouild have been cleaned out by the Sears repairmen during his annual service visit. He didn't do his job. The fuse was a $15 part and simple to replace. I cleaned out the duct work by removing four hex screws in a 5 minute extra job. Boo Hoo to Sears 

Found YouTube video explaining the thermal fuse and thermostat on the exhaust duct. Thermal fuse treated open, so I ordered both of them as advised. 

I ordered thermal fuse from AppliancePartsPros.com and replaced the old fuse by following the video demo. The dryer has heat again. It was easy and fast even without a good tool to unscrew the nuts. I saved at least $100. I am so glad that AppliancePartsPros.com gives guidance on how to repair and where to find the parts to do the repair. My gas dryer is a very old one, I didn't want to spend a fortune on repair. So, I looked into the internet to find help for do-it-yourself repairs. And, I found it and repaired the dryer successfully. Now I ordered a thermostat to replace the old one as the blown-out fuse could be caused by a short of the thermostat. The thermostat is located right below the fuse for my dryer; so it would be easy to replace it. I am not a handyman, so I am really thrilled to be able to repair the dryer.

The thermal fuse was replaced along with the thrmst-fix and the heating coils. pretty easy fix, didn't take long to get my dryer back to working order. 

Thanks to your video, I checked the fuse with my trusty multimeter to verify it was the problem, found that it was, ordered the part from you, it came two days later and I replaced it. Works like a champ ever since. Thanks! 

Honestly I watched a video on appliance pros for the top five most likely parts and figured by probable causes what was the most likely cause for failure. I replaced the part quickly and easily, Thank you for the resource.
