How to Troubleshoot & Replace Whirlpool AP6023392 / WPW10614158 Refrigerator Evaporator Drip Tray

Easy 

Put a new tray-evaporator in. 

Ordered a new evaporator pan from you guys and read all the comments. I took a short-cut tho. After removing the toe plate... main bracket and holding wire from the water filter housing, I disconnected the two water lines to completely remove the housing. Easy Peasy! Didn't even have to remove anything on the back of the fridge. 5 minutes later, the fridge was back in her appointed slot.. THANKS to a GREAT Company! Part was here in less than 24 hours. IF a 60 year old woman can do it..so can everyone! THANK YOU! Lesa Pinney 

Fridge at a rental property I own developed a leak. Appeared to be coming from under the drip pan. Removal of the water filter assembly confirmed a cracked pan. I believe this was likely a common failure as the new (oem) part arrived about 50% thicker than the cracked pan I removed. Most difficult bit of changing the pan was removal of the fridge's water filter as the old push disconnects were very stubborn; once the filter assembly was removed changing the pan was a breeze. ALSO- Appliance Parts Pros is the best! Part shipped the same day I ordered it and arrived in just two days. AND I HAD ONLY PAID FOR STANDARD SHIPPING. 

Replaced it - tricky getting the old one past all the other components 

Took out the old tray and replaced with new unit. However because of the location and the tight spot that it is in at the bottom of the Kitchen Aid refrigerator it was NOT EASY and poorly designed for replacement. 

New tray. The repair man that I talk to said we would have to tip the refrigerator on it side to put the drip pan in. I took the grate off in front remove the screws in the water filter housing and the removed the screws in the wire harness and push it to the left. Took out old tray and replaced the new tray all in about 20 minutes. 

It was quite a pain to remove but do this stuff to replace it: Remove back panel and front kick panel Remove front two screws holding filter in front Remove screws holding the water pump thing in back so you can get slack on the hoses to pull the filter holder out of the way Remove drip pan (may have to cut tape holding it in front and back) Insert new pan and reassemble everything 

Pulled all the removable parts off bottom front, pulled old pan out . replaced it with the new one and reassembled it all. I WAS IMPRESSED WITH A MUCH STURDIER REPLACEMENT PART FROM YOU ! Will probably never have to mess with it again.
