How to Troubleshoot & Replace Whirlpool AP3120022 / 8193504 Upper Wash Arm

I found Appliance Parts Pros.com online told them my problem and even watched a video that explained how to install the Wash Arm. I ordered the arm, and believe it or not, the part was delivered the next day by standard delivery. It took me about 30 seconds to install the replacement parts. So if you need parts for your appliance, I strongly recommend using this web site. I know I will use them again. 

Purchased a replacement arm and fastner. Watched the repair video and completed the repair.

Looked the part up on AppliancePartsPro.com. Found it pictured and posted with a video showing the repair. Ordered the part. I installed it using the video. And, no lie my wife says "the dishes have never been cleaner. These guys make me look good! 

After finding the manual online I realized what it was and started searching for the part. AppliancePartsPros.com had what I needed and had a great video with the instructions for replacing the wash arm. It was so easy! I ordered the part, received it in a couple of days, and completed the repair. 

The "upper wash arm", 7 inches of plastic, fell off my dishwasher onto the clean glasses. I found the model number on my dishwasher. That brought up 5 sets of pictures of all 160 or so parts that could be replaced. It was not difficult to spot which was the piece I found on top of my clean glasses. There are squares in the picture of the part which are apparently one-inch in size so I could verify the size. There is also an option to plug your model number in again to confirm it is correct. Finally, there are excellent videos describing the repair. I had trouble with my account so needed to call. The very helpful agent suggested a second video since the first one did not answer all my questions. Simple! Not cheap, but certainly way cheaper than a new dishwasher. Oh, and I chose standard shipping and still got the item the next day. This is the third repair on this 21 year old dishwasher. Makes me feel powerful!! 

Ordered the Upper Wash Arm which came the next day. Followed the instructions in the video provided online. It took me about 10 minutes to fix as I have short arms and had to reach the back of the dishwasher.
