How to Troubleshoot & Replace Whirlpool AP6019618 / WPW10327249 Water Inlet Valve

Replace the inlet water valve. 

Replaced the valve. 

We replaced the valve but it still didn't work. I checked the float switch and it was working fine. Being disappointed that the $70 part didn't fix the problem and everything checked out fine so I googled our dishwasher over and over for some blog and found one about resetting the dishwasher by unplugging or turning off the circuit beaker for 1 minute to reboot the unit. THAT WAS THE PROBLEM. WORKS FINE NOW. Please change your website to list resetting the unit as the first thing to try. #1. Try resetting/rebooting the unit. #2. Replace the water inlet valve. #3 Test the float switch. Thanks, Keith 

Purchased new part and installed it myself. 

Replaced entire pump & motor assembly. Before doing the repair, I also noticed that the fill hose was crimped. This dishwasher has never filled with quite enough water, so that's why! Replaced the water inlet valve just to be sure. Dishwasher is running better than ever! 

After researching what could be the problem, as opposed to purchasing a new dishwasher, since we had replaced parts last fall for another issue we decided to invest money in the water inlet valve first. My husband installed within 20 minutes. I was thrilled that we saved a lot of money and have a working dishwasher. Our current dishwasher was purchased in 2016 the cost back then was a lot less than today’s prices. 

I watched the video posted by AppliancePartsPros.com and was convinced it would be an easy fix. I had pulled the whole unit out from under the counter since I also needed to replace the supply line. This helped get access to the water inlet valve. My fill hose connection was not accessible from the front. The replacement of the valve was very easy! It fit perfectly and works beautifully. No more leaks! 

The real problem was accumulated lime and sand blocking water flow through the valve inlet screen. Your troubleshooting guidelines failed to mention this possibility!!! 

My husband put the soap dispenser on and my son put the water valve on. It works very well now. 

The water inlet valve was the culprit and also in my investigation the door seal was torn. So the parts were ordered and installed, now no water leak. 10 mins to install, senior moment.
