How to Troubleshoot & Replace Whirlpool AP6006066 / WP2188808 Water Inlet Valve

I replaced the solenoid valve and I had to lower the temperature in the refrigerator because the line was frozen. 

Replaced inlet valve assembly. Very easy repair to do. 

Replaced the eater inlet valve 

Leak was from hose attached to built in filter. Since the supply line had an inline filter unit installed the built in filter was not being used. Used to have double filtered water until it was realized that fridge filter did not have to be used. Water dispenser which was not the problem was removed and built in filter unit was unscrewed from front of fridge and discarded. Under sink filtered feed line was ran directly to dispenser and remaining lines to original positions. 

I took off the back panel and could see it wasn't leaking from a hose but some part that the hoses fed into. I didn't know what the part was so I just did some internet searches for how to fix water leaking from the fridge and I found the video from appliance parts pros explaining everything I needed to know including what the part was, so that I could order a new one, and how to replace it. 

I went on the internet and searched to find out what the problem might be. I found it could be the water valve for the ice maker. I took the panel off the back of the fridge and discovered a leak from the valve. I ordered the part one day and got it the next. I view a video on your web site which explained in detail how to remove the old part and replace the new one. I am an active working 62 year old female and I did the repair myself within 15 minutes. Now my fridge has no more leaks and I am making ice. Thank you Appliance Parts Pro. 

Ordered new solenoid. Replacement took about 5 minutes. 

The water valve inlet was leaking on the water valve side. The ice maker water valve side had a small constant drip going into the icemaker tube, this water turned to ice at the top of the tube blocking water going into the icemaker when called for. Replacing the valve assy and reseting the icemaker cured the problem. Ordered the part on a friday afternoon, received the part at 10am the next day. 

Bought & replaced valve
