With the help of a representative at appliance parts pros. it was determined to be one of three things. 1) The suspension rods. 2)cracks in the stater 3) State of on the bearings and shaft. I thought the suspension springs were the problem. Ruled that out by lifting the drum and letting it fall, and observing the bounce. There should be no bounce. I did go to the extent of removing each rod and cleaning it. Next step, expose the stater by removing the motor housing. No cracks. I noticed the dirt and corrosion on the motor shaft and bearings indicating the tub seal had failed. Using the ordered “bearing and tub seal kit” along with the “bearing installation tool”, I was able to fix the problem. The tool was essential in this repair, don’t skimp in buying this tool or your job will take much longer to complete. I also had to use a car jack and 2 x 4 to separate the tub from the shaft instructed by a YouTube video. The washer is working like new.
