Disconnected ( already tripped) breaker in the panel. Lifted cooked top unscrewed the glass top and set aside. I took the picture of the wires connected to the control on my ipad and replaced broken control. reconnected the wires as per picture. Cleaned the greased glass top and replaced the infinite switch seal for the broken control. Then reinstall glass top back on the cooktop and put the cooktop back in in place. Worst part of job was sliding stove out from wall. Remove 4 small screws from shield on top of stove, disconnect two connectors from switch rocker, push lock tabs inward so you can push switch rocker outward from back toward burners threw frame of stove, insert new unit until click locks, reconnect wires, and reinsert shield back on top stove and secure with 4 screws removed earlier. Talked to a representative at your company they said it was probably the infinite switch. I purchased all four switches, replaced all four burner switches. Very easy to do. In less than an hour to replace all four. Read more

• Won't start

Turned out the little switches on the knob shaft had corroded and were staying on. There was constant continuity showing with an ohm meter. Replacing the switches was very easy (always disconnect power to the unit before servicing). Bought a new ignitor module as a backup as they do go out of production after 10 years or so- another cheap and easy fix if needed in the future. Read more

Biggest problem was trying to get at the switch to replace it. Had to remove two allen head screws to gain access on the back panel of the range hood. The allen heads were very small fortunately I had a number bits from my old electric screw driver that allowed me to remove them. Even then I had to snake my way cutting my hand to get to the switch to replace it. The positive part the switch was over $25 less the if purchased directly from GE through Appliance Pros. Read more

I unscrewed the 3 Phillips screws on the back of the dryer controls housing, then it folds forward for access to each control switch. the old one popped out, and I swapped the wires using a needle nose pliers, one by one, from the old switch to the new switch. The part was an exact fit, and popped right back into the housing. I screwed the 3 screws back in, pushed on the new knob, and it looks and works like new ! Read more
