Evaporator Cover
Genuine Whirlpool part
By: Whirlpool
Part Number: W11395558

The Evaporator Cover is an OEM component for Whirlpool refrigerators. It protects and seals the evaporator coils responsible for absorbing heat and circulating cold air within the fridge. This cover helps regulate temperatures by preventing freezer burn-off and directing airflow across the coils for efficient cooling performance.

Causes of a bad evaporator cover are generally wear and damage incurred through prolonged use. Exposure to temperature fluctuations or moisture can impact material integrity.

Some signs a replacement is needed include:

  • Condensation or frost patterns outside intended guide areas
  • Elevated fridge temperatures unable to be maintained
  • Chilling unit error codes displayed

Note: This includes the fan motor, wire assembly, and thermistor.

Replacing with this Whirlpool OEM cover ensures the proper protection of coils. Compatible also with models from Maytag, KitchenAid, Jenn-Air, Amana, and others.

Do-It-Yourself Stories from Customers like You Dryer motor failed   Randall S. • Huntsville , TX • October 03, 2014

I've read several reports about how "easy and quick" it was to replace the motor. All I can say is, "nonsense". It wasn't as easy as others reported, but for someone with decent tool skills, it was a very doable home repair - just be prepared to spend some time on it. First, the motor needs to be accessed from the FRONT of the dryer. This means removing the two cover panels to access the interior. NOTE: take photos as you go of how all interior pieces for together to make reassembly easier -... Read more

Do-It-Yourself Stories from Customers like You The convection fan on my ge profile convection wall oven burned out   Doug C. • Staunton , VA • February 18, 2015

The motor hummed but the fan didn't turn. Clearly the brushes were burned out. I ordered a new fan, although I had to talk to a human at ApplianceParts because my model was not listed.
