Ice dispenser not working? This refrigerator ice dispenser motor drives the auger mechanism. Moderate DIY repair, typically completed in 20-40 minutes.
Lost power for 24 hours due to hurricane Mathew and water dripped into the ice dispenser motor and refroze when the power was restored. Ice maker worked but would not dispense ice. Fix a noisy or non-working convection fan with this replacement motor. Common when fan makes grinding sounds then stops. Moderate DIY repair, 30min-2hrs.
Ordered a new convection fan motor and blade. Had to remove current blade from inside oven, then remove back panels (yes, it took two to get to the fan motor), and replaced the motor. Old motor well past shot. Had been noisy for about 3-4 weeks, but our kitchen was being remodeled, so we let it slide. Once it was clear how to remove back panel, the job was easy. Took about $100 and 2 hours of my time, but the oven convection fan is running silently again. Have not installed the new fan... Read more

I first emptied out both the refrigerator and freezer. I first wanted to check the evaporator motor and fan to see if that was the problem. I unplugged the refrigerator. I did not have to take out the ice maker but I did because it was easier to see. I unscrewed the panel in the inside - rear of the freezer. ... Read more

Opened up hinged bottom of microwave and saw that the old motor had come loose from its secure position. I decided to replace the old motor with the new one and secured it into place, which was very simple--just a matter of unplugging the old motor's connection; plugging in the new one; securing the motor in place with one screw; closing up the hinged bottom; putting in the new coupler; and checking to see if it works. It did! Read more
