This replacement upper agitator restores the laundry-moving action in compatible top-load washers so clothes get cleaned and rinsed more evenly. It installs on the transmission/drive coupling to re-enable proper agitation. What it does:
- Moves clothes and water during the wash cycle so detergent and water contact fabrics for better cleaning.
- Replaces a cracked, stripped, worn or missing agitator that can cause poor cleaning or uneven loads.
- Helps stop wobbling, banging or unusual noise caused by a loose or damaged agitator.
- Works with the washer's drive coupling/drive block to transfer motor motion into agitation.
What's included: One upper agitator. Install notes:
- Disconnect power and water before starting any repair.
- Remove the agitator cap or fabric softener dispenser, then unbolt/lift the old agitator from the drive coupling per your model instructions.
- Inspect the drive block/agitator dogs and splines for wear; replace those parts if they are damaged to ensure proper operation.
- After installation, run a short test cycle to confirm secure fit and normal agitation.
Compatibility note: Enter the model number into the OEM parts lookup or the retailer's compatibility tool before ordering.

The two sections of my agitator kept separating & a new screw wasn't the answer but Ann S. • Washington , DC • April 20, 2017
When the drum finally started to list during washings, I knew I couldn't keep screwing the two parts of the agitator together as a temporary fix anymore so I called a technician who promptly and erroneously told me that the entire unit would need to be replaced. This didn't seem right so I checked online and found APP. I'm very thankful I did. The videos, instructions, and parts made the repair possible. With my uncle's elbow grease (taking the old agitator out was no picnic), we were able to...

- Helps prevent water splashes from escaping during agitation and spin
- May help if you notice water around the lid/top of the cabinet
- Replace when the gasket is torn, brittle, or permanently compressed
What's included: 1 tub ring seal Install notes:
- Unplug the washer and shut off the water supply before servicing
- Lift the top or remove the cabinet to access the tub ring (varies by model)
- Remove the tub ring; clean mating surfaces; seat the new seal evenly without twists

Broken fill valve John N. • Tumwater , WA • July 14, 2015
The video associated with the part was easy to understand. The actual repair was easy - maybe 10 minutes. But getting the top casing of the washer fitted back over the base was a huge pain. That took 8 tries to finally get it locked in just right. The washer is 20+ years old though.
The parts were all exactly correct and fit perfectly. Shipping time was excellent. Parts arrived in about 2 days with "standard" shipping.
The washer works great now. This is the second major repair I've done...

Washing machine would not agitate or spin. Laurie W. • Webster , NH • March 25, 2017
We were a bit doubtful that we could find parts for this Whirlpool washing machine as it is 22 years old. We were SO pleased that not only could we find them ( with excellent customer service) but they were shipped in an appropriate time. My handy husband was then able to repair it himself :)

Straight knurled pin that secures knobs or small components to a shaft for a tight, slip-resistant fit. Replaces a worn or missing pin to stop loose, wobbly, or spinning knobs and restore reliable engagement. What it does:
- Secures knobs, dials or small parts to control shafts by providing a press-fit, knurled surface.
- Prevents wobble, slipping, or spinning of control knobs that won't turn with the shaft.
- Common service symptom: knob spins freely or fails to engage controls.
- Used where a small metal pin is required to lock a component onto a splined or smooth shaft.
What's included: One straight knurled pin. Install notes:
- Disconnect power and unplug the appliance before servicing.
- Remove the knob or access panel to reach the shaft; pin is typically press-fit.
- Removal/installation may require needle-nose pliers, a small punch, or a bench press; protect surrounding parts from damage.
- Keep small parts away from children and follow appliance safety guidelines; replace mating hardware if the shaft or hole is damaged.

Whirlpool shaking Willy P. • Victorville , CA • May 19, 2019
Weekend laundry became very noisy, our 1987 Whirlpool washer began doing a dance across the floor and the drum was banging into the inner cabinet. After doing some research and watching a few videos on Appliance parts pros website. I inspected the washer and noticed one leg the rubber coating disintegrated, decided to change all four legs, springs and lid switch. Hardest part of the job is getting the cabinet together. Ops check good.

- Helps prevent the hose from slipping off during operation
- Reduces leaks at the hose connection point
- Common symptoms of a bad clamp: water leaking at the drain hose joint, a loose/detached hose, or a visibly rusted/broken clamp
What's included:
Install notes:
- Disconnect power and turn off the water supply; place a towel to catch residual water
- Access the hose connection, remove the old clamp, and inspect the hose end and fitting; replace the hose if cracked or swollen

I tried to wash two pillows and when they got out of balance i dislodged a balance ring clip John R. • Reno , NV • May 29, 2016
The balance ring clip fell between the drum and the plastic tub. I watched the step by step video, went out and bought a tub ring tool to remove the tub ring nut and did not find the clip. I disassembled the machine further reviewing the video again. In the end the machine must have been apart before and there were 3 clips missing total. I ordered 8 new clips and replaced them and reversed the procedure to reassemble the machine once again watching the video putting the machine back to better...

This pressure switch is a factory-replacement control that senses air/pressure changes and helps the dryer run correct cycles and safety functions. It restores proper pressure detection so the dryer can heat and cycle as intended. What it does:
- Detects air/vacuum pressure changes to signal the dryer control for cycle and safety operations
- Helps ensure normal heating and timed cycles by allowing the control to confirm airflow/vent conditions
- Common symptom linkage: dryer won't heat, won't start, runs too long, or displays pressure/airflow-related fault codes
- Works with the dryer's vent/air sensing system
What's included:
Install notes:
- Disconnect power before servicing to avoid shock or injury
- Inspect hoses and venting for blockages; replace damaged vacuum/air hose when installing this switch
- Handle connectors and terminals gently; ensure secure electrical connections and correct routing of pressure hose

Water flooded out over the top of the washer James W. • Petaluma , CA • October 22, 2014
At first I thought the water level fill switch might be bad because I was not sure if the hose was plugged in when I opened the panel. Then while waiting for the parts and taking a little more time looking at the schematics in order for the water level fill switch to flood over it would also take the overflow switch to fail as well. I could not recall if the water kept flowing after I unplugged it or not. So I changed the water inlet solenoid assuming it got stuck. Ofcourse after the overflow...
