The Agitator Hub is an OEM part for Frigidaire washing machines. It connects the agitator to the drive shaft, enabling the agitator to rotate and move clothes effectively during the wash cycle.
Causes of a bad agitator hub can include wear and tear from frequent use, exposure to harsh detergents or hard water, or damage from overloading the washer.
Symptoms of a bad agitator hub include:
- Agitator not moving or rotating properly
- Loud noises or grinding sounds during the wash cycle
- Clothes not being cleaned effectively
- The washer shaking or vibrating excessively
This OEM Frigidaire part is also compatible with Electrolux, Gibson, Kelvinator and some Kenmore models.

The agitator was not working John H. • Auburn , NY • October 11, 2016
The agitator stopped functioning and there was a squeaking sound occurring in agitation mode. I found that if I cranked down on the agitator cap, screwing in as hard as I could, the agitator would work briefly, then the cap would loosen and agitator stop moving. I removed the agitator cap, along with which came the agitator stud cap and a rubber washer/seal which was jammed up into the underside of the cap. I lifted out the agitator from the drum and inspected it and the hub best I could....

Part Number: 3204401
This agitator is a genuine Frigidaire part, sold individually. This agitator can be used as a replacement part for a washing machine or a washer/dryer combination appliance. This part rotates within the tub of the washing machine so that clothes and other items are tumbled around and fully cleaned. If an agitator has been subject to damage at some point in the standard lifespan of a washing machine, symptoms of damage will manifest in the form of a washing machine that will not agitate in a normal laundry cycle. If this is occurring, the agitator should be inspected for visible signs of damage, including punctures, scrapes, tears, and erosion to the material that could preclude it from serving its function. If the agitator seems damaged upon assessment, it should be removed and replaced with this genuine OEM replacement part before using the washing machine again. This is an OEM part sourced directly from the manufacturer. It is sold individually. This agitator is compatible with the following appliance brands: Frigidaire, Kenmore, Gibson, and Kelvinator.

Washer agitator and hub broken Michael A. • Fayetteville , AR • July 18, 2015
I own several apartments with same washer/dryer combo. A couple months ago, one of my washers stopped agitating. I hired an Appliance Repair Company. They charged my $95 for agitator, $65 for hub and $120 for service call, plus tax for a total of $310. Oh, and it took them FOUR WEEKS to get the part in and fix my washer!. Something to do with "Frigidaire shipping issues".
Last week I had another unit break with same problem. Ordered parts from AppliancePartsPros.com for $80, parts arrived...

The trunnion is the hub that mounts the washer's inner tub to the drive shaft. Replacing a worn hub restores a solid, centered connection so the basket spins smoothly without wobble, slip, or grinding. What it does:
- Secures and centers the spin basket on the drive shaft for balanced rotation
- Transfers drive torque to the inner tub during spin
- Helps maintain basket alignment to reduce vibration
- Typical symptoms of failure: loose/wobbly tub, scraping or grinding noises, poor or no spin, frequent out-of-balance events
What's included:
Install notes:
- Disconnect power and water before service; wear gloves and eye protection
- Access the hub by removing top/access parts, then the agitator/wash plate and inner-tub fasteners
- Clean the shaft and mating surfaces; seat the new trunnion fully and tighten fasteners evenly in a crisscross pattern
- Inspect related parts (tub seal, bolts, bearing) while open and replace if worn; run a short test cycle to ensure smooth spin

Leaking washer tub Hugh S. • Miami , FL • June 25, 2016
The seal at the bottom of the tub had started to fail. On large loads water would leak so I ordered a new one rubber seal. Getting the trunnion off the transmission shaft was hard as it was calcified and corroded. I used a wire brush to get some of it off and then used a lot of WD-40. The bolt holding the trunnion plate on sheared off when I tried to remove it on one side and the other came out ok (the bolt hole through the trunnion is not threaded so it should slide out once the plate is off...

Replaced transmission. If you have a laundry center like me, you don't have alot of space. Replacing the parts want difficult. Just limited space made it harder. Also couldn't find a removal video for one of these but using a video for a frigidaire stand alone washer ouput me in the ball park and figured it out from there. Washer wouldn't run but as dryer did it obviously wasn't a circuit breaker E James W. • Wilmington , NC • September 29, 2014
First attempt was to replace the door latch mechanism...didn't fix it.
Kept researching and the washer control knob had been hard to turn so it seemed logical that was the problem. Also, at some point the end cap had broken. As it has the main grounding point inside it and as I was taking the control panel apart anyway it made sense to replace it.

Watched a few of your videos and ordered the springs and a insert, and actually got the parts right. I am not a Appliance repair guy but I am retired and I am pretty handy so I thought what the heck. I watched the videos, a lot of common sense, common tools, and plenty of time. My knuckles are busted up and a little blood, but I got it done. Was actually kind of rewarding. Works like a champ. The Videos, ARE AWESOME.
