Replaced drive motor assembly. As luck would have it, the replacement motor was loud but at least ran for the entire cycle. APP was informed of the excessively noisy motor and immediately sent out a replacement, which is working just fine in relative silence. Tools used: Philips head screwdriver, channel lock pliers, 13mm socket, shop vac.

Https://www.appliancefactoryparts.com/content/pdfs/125631-1.pdf has the details to disassemble the dryer to access the vent part that cost apx$28. 1.5 hrs and some patience along with a screw driver and players was alll it took to to remove the cover, control panel, front cover, drum, belt, gas line and manifold assembly, flame tube? And rear drum panel in order to replace worn part. Reassembled in 15minutes to clean and vacuumed dryer. Works great now.
