Timothy April 11, 2021 for Model Number PRG304US Thermador 30" Gas Range Natural gas. Problem occurs when using oven. During preheat while trying to get to preset baking temperature stove will begin to make loud puffing sound. Sound is similar to when it first ignites but it is repetitive until it finally reaches temperature. Oven igniter is operating correctly I believe. If we are using the cooktop burners while the oven is making the "puffing" sound the flame will reduce and expand along with the oven. This happens on all four burners. I'm thinking it might be the gas regulator. There have been no changes to the house plumbing
1 Answer Timothy, This does sound as if you have a pressure regulator issue, and it would need to be replaced. Part# 00754658 Read More...
Achates B. December 18, 2020 for Model Number GPS484GGS We have our home for sale and when we were there the other day we detected a very slight gas smell. We called the gas company and they came out within a few minutes. He detected a very very tiny gas leak coming from the front right burner, using that gas meter that they use. Is part # AP2828839 the part needed to correct this issue or is it Valve, Part # AP2832930? I think I'll also order the Part # AP2825260 Venturi Tube in case he needs it. We also noticed the ignition plug is loose and should be replaced. That is your Part # AP2838563. Unless we just need to replace the clip. HELP!
1 Answer Hello Achates, The correct part number for the gas valve is 00415500 or mfg number 15-10-160L. I'm sorry but this part has been discontinued by the manufacturer and no satisfactory substitutions have been provided. If the ignitor is not broken and is only loose, you will only need to replace the mounting clip 00189322. Read More...
Mikey December 13, 2020 for Model Number older thermador cook top Purchased house with an older Thermador gas cook top. After power outages, right front and back burners have no spark or gas. Eventually they work again, usually after a few weeks, until the next power event. What part(s) are unhappy? Thanks!
1 Answer Mikey, To be able to assist we will need to have the model number of your unit. Read More...
John September 24, 2020 for Model Number GGS365 Can't get either solenoid on simmer burners to work. I have good spark (replaced module) and now these do not work. Did I wire them up wrong? Blue/yellow/orange wires? Installed a new simmer control as well, still nada. Also what does the P mean on the solenoid gas inlet/outflow?
1 Answer John, You need to recheck the wiring connections at the simmer controller and spark module. The wiring is "specific" and if wired incorrectly, the power will not be routed to the gas valve solenoid, and it won't activate and open. You will also need to inspect and check the potentiometers 00189816/20-01-872-01 and wires for the left side XLO/XHI burners. Read More...
Doug April 27, 2020 Just purchased this from you. PS8707103 VALVE does this require pipe dope/gas tape on installation?
Lamont November 27, 2019 for Model Number PRG486ELG03 Hello, I have a thermador PRG486ELG03. The oven does not heat after 45min of baking. It will attempt to ingite (spark igniter) but will not regardless of the temperature range. I have replaced the oven board set, ignitor relay, potentiometer, igniter and temperature sensor. 1. Is there a safety valve and gas solenoid or just a gas solenoidfor the oven? 2. Is this a symptom of the gas solenoid?
1 Answer Lamont, This issue would be most likely caused by a faulty oven safety valve 00605060. Read More...
Ed August 10, 2019 for Model Number PRDS304 My back left burner is not igniting. When I turn it on it "clicks" and sparks but does not ignite. I can not smell gas either. Do I need to replace the solenoid?
1 Answer Ed, with the gas turned off to the entire unit, you will want to test the solenoid 00411253 for 110VDC when the burner is activated. If there is 110VDC at the solenoid, then the solenoid has failed. If there is not 110VDC, then you will want to test for 5VDC going to the simmer control board from the potentiometer 00189816 (potentiometer has been discontinued by the manufacturer, unfortunately). If there is 5VDC, then the simmer control 00422882 (unfortunately, this has been discontinued by the manufacturer) has failed. If there is not 5VDC, then the potentiometer has failed. You will want to visually inspect the wires going from the potentiometer to the simmer control and out to the solenoid for any breaks or bare wires. Read More...
Patrick March 12, 2019 for Model Number AP2828839 The back left burner on my stove does not work but my front one does. Both are XLO burners. Sparks are working fine but no gas appears to be getting through to the back burner. I do not hear a clicking sound when switching my back burner on which I believe means the solenoid is not working? I replaced the solenoid but it is still not working. Could this mean that the simmer controller is not working? It seems to be working fine for the other burner. Or could it be something else?
1 Answer Patrick, This issue would most likely be caused by the potentiometer for the burner. Read More...
Tim February 06, 2019 for Model Number SGCS304RS I have a Thermador model #SGCS304RS cook-top, and the front right burner sparks but no flame. I turn the burner on the indicator light comes on but I don't hear the solenoid click, also the dial turns a lot further than the other three do. This item is in a rental property so i'm wondering if someone forced it to far, could it need a new valve maybe? Is there a contact inside the valve that sends a signal to solenoid?
1 Answer Tim, you will want to test the potentiometer and the solenoid for DC voltage. If you turn the gas off before it enters the unit, then gain access to the inside of the appliance. With the switch placed on high, you will want to test for 110VDC at the solenoid by placing the black lead of a multimeter on the wiring going to the control and the red lead on the opposite wiring connection of the solenoid. If there is 110VDC, then you have a bad solenoid. If there is not 110VDC, then you can place the red lead at the connection of the controller labled line-5v and testing for 4VDC. If you do not have 4VDC, then you have a bad potentiometer, if you do have the voltage, then you have a bad controller. Read More...
John January 23, 2019 for Model Number thermador PRG304US The oven had a gas leak which showed up at the burner. I replaced the dual gas valve and now it works but the flame is low and or cuts in and out. Is there a solenoid for the 3/8 oven/broiler gas line? I can't pinpoint it on the schematics. thanks. John
1 Answer John, there is not a solenoid for the broil burner. There may possibly be a clogged orifice in the burner that could cause this issue. Also, if the igniter does not draw enough amps to properly engage the valve, it can cause an improper opening of the dual valve. Read More...
