Symptoms of a bad adjustable hinge kit include:

  • The refrigerator door not closing properly
  • A noticeable gap between the door and the refrigerator body
  • Difficulty in opening or closing the door
  • Cold air escaping from the refrigerator

Amy, You will want to look at the cam where the door hinge goes up into the door and make sure that it is not broken. If it is then it would need to be replaced. There is no other adjustment for the door swing on the unit.

Hello Jerry, You will need to remove the items in the door to make it light enough to handle and also so you can lay the door down to access the riser. Once emptied, remove the screws in the top door hinge and lift the door off of the unit. Lay it down and use a pair of channel lock pliers to pull the old riser out of the bottom of the door. Press in the new one, put a dab of grease on the riser, and re-install the door in the reverse order.

Sonja, You would only have to remove the door of the hinge that you need to replace. You would remove the door take the screws out of the hinge and install the new hinge in accordance with the instructions. If you are replacing both lower hinges then you can remove 1 door at a time rather than both at the same time.

Karen, You will want to check to make sure that the cams are not broken which would cause the door to be lower. You can also raise the door if the cams are not broken via the bolt at the bottom of the hinge which raises and lowers door. If the cam is broken or the bearing it will need to be replaced.

Hello Michelle, The two parts that will have to be replaced are the upper and lower door closer plates. The upper closer plates 240457701 affix to the bottom of the door and the bottom closer plates 5303918455 affix to the lower door hinge. The lower ones are not available unless the lower door hinge is ordered. This is the mysterious way that the manufacturer has decided to make the parts available. These should be lubricated periodically with petroleum jelly and to make the door closer plates last longer, heavier items should be placed on a shelf inside the unit, while the door shelves should be primarily used for lighter weight items.

John Doe for Model Number FRS26H5ASB4

I need the black door stop for the freezer door and the refrigerator door. They are both labeled as 13A for the diagrams of the freezer and refrigerator door. I was able to find the black door stop for the refrigerator door (Item Number: AP3140250). However, When I looked for the door stop for the freezer door, what is listed under 13 A is the adjustable hinge kit not the door stop for the freezer door. I was wondering if I could just order two of these door stopper for the refrigerator door and use one of them for the freezer door or do you sell another one only for the freezer door? Thank you for your time.
