This refrigerator control board is the central electronic module that manages key appliance functions for consistent temperatures and dependable operation. A failed board can cause no-cool conditions, unstable temperatures, or unresponsive controls; replacing it restores proper function. What it does:

  • Interprets inputs from temperature sensors and user settings to run the appliance correctly
  • Distributes power to components through relays and connectors
  • Coordinates cooling and, on applicable models, defrost and fan operations
  • Common failure signs can include no or intermittent cooling, warm temperatures, frost buildup, clicking from the control area, or unresponsive controls
What's included:
  • 1 control board
Install notes:
  • Disconnect power to the refrigerator before servicing
  • Use ESD precautions; handle the board by the edges only
  • Photograph wiring; move connectors one at a time, ensuring keyed orientation and full seating
  • After reassembly, restore power and allow up to 24 hours for temperatures to stabilize

For Frigidaire Electronic Control Board (Refrigerator) (Part Number: OEM13697664)

Daniel Cain for Model Number LGUS2642LE2

Hi, About a week ago, I got this SY code displayed in the freezer temp window and CE in the refrigerator window. The temps seems okay in the fridge and freezer. Light in freezer works, but not in fridge. Ice and water will not dispense. No control buttons work on the display. A tech can out and replaced the control board (5303918538), but the error code is still showing. Can you help me, or suggest what else might be the problem. Sincerely, Daniel

1 Answer

Daniel, With the SY CE code then this would be a communication error between the main board and the dispenser control board. The part number for the dispenser control board is 242114904.

Hi, about a week ago, I got this error code: SY display in the freezer temp window and CE display in the refrigerator window. I had the control board (5303918538) replaced, but I still get this code. The temps seemed ok in fridge and freezer. Light in freezer works but not in fridge. Ice and water will not dispense. I can unplug it for about half an hour and when powered back on, all seemed normal, but after awhile, the SY and CE code reappears.

1 Answer

Daniel, The issue with this SY CE error is a communication error between the main board and dispenser board. Since the main board has been changed you will want to check the connections at the dispenser board and if these check ok then replace the dispenser board 242114904.

Hello Stephen. You will need to check and see if there is power coming to the auger motor. If there is power there, and the motor does not run, it is bad. You can only test this with the door switch closed. The auger motor has been permanently discontinued by the manufacturer and we don't know of any source or replacement for the part. If there is no power, then you will need to check the control board on the unit. You can test this with a multi-meter TJMA-DMT3. Here is a link on how to use a multi-meter. http://forum.appliancepartspros.com/oven-repair-including-ranges-cooktops/4810-how-check-continuity-ohmmeter.html

Terry, You'll need to remove the front kickplate grille, and/or raise the front of the refrigerator slightly and remove the 5303918538 switch board box and check the control board inside it for damage and shorted or burn marks on the board.

Hello. If the numbers are showing Sb, this means your appliance is in the Sabbath mode. To get out of this mode you will need to press and hold the down arrow on the freezer side and the up arrow on the refrigerator side simultaneously for 5-10 seconds. If this does not work, you will need to reset your appliance. You can do this by either unplugging it or shutting the power off at your home's circuit breaker, for 15-20 minutes. Restore power and check the control panel as well as the ice dispenser and lights. If the problem is still there, replace the control board on the unit.

3 year old fridge. The freezer quit cooling. Removed panel inside the freezer back, found the evaporator was iced up at the in and out tubes over top the evaporator, but not the actual evaporator coil itself. Thawed with hair drier and made sure fan was operable. Changed Thermistor and tried again. No dice. Still had cooling in fridge side,(37 degrees) but only partial cooling in freezer side. (about 38 - 46 degrees). Next tried the switching board down under refrigerator. Again, no joy. By the way, the evaporator coil is not covered with dust or anything like that. Fan also works. Compressor does run. Any ideas?

1 Answer

Dave, With the temperature in the refrigerator staying about normal but the freezer not, this sounds like an issue with possibly a low refrigerant charge. If just the upper part of the coils are frosted but nothing on the lower 2/3 of the coils then this would most likely be the issue.

Hello Ken, First see if the plastic will peel off without removing the wording. If so, this was the protective coating put on for shipping protection from scratches and other damage. If not, replace the dispense control board 242114904.

Beverly, With the display not being able to be adjusted up or down the issue would most likely be caused by a faulty dispenser control board 242114904. You will also want to check the resistance of the thermistors as well to make sure that it is good.
