Joe, you may want to check the main control at connection J9 during failure. If the main control is tested from red probe of multimeter to pin 1 red wire to black probe on pin 2 black wire, you should read 12VDC. If there is 12VDC shown when in failure, then the user interface [242115004] has failed and is causing this issue. If there is not 12VDC during failure, then the main control [5304497863] has failed.

Tommy, The main board, not likely, since everything else works properly. First check the wiring harness at the freezer door hinge, make sure there are no loose, broken or damaged wires. The access the dispenser control board 241973711 / 241973702 and check to make sure there isn't any loose connections discoloration or burn marks on the board or tracers replace the board if all's OK.

William, That error is for the evaporator fan circuit which includes the main board. So if you have already replaced the fan and still have the same issue, you will need to replace the main control.

Bruce, It sounds like this issue may be caused by the main power board on the unit if the unit is not working after grounding it out.

Battery Bill for Model Number LFHB2741PF1

Ice maker apparently getting big clumps ice... not dispensing. Was filling big cup, ran & ran, then sounded funny... stopped, and SY CF error. Removed ice tray, pored out ice. Noticed thermister wire?? dangling... probably why ice was frozen? Now, ice and water dispense silent. Refrig and bottom freezer interior lights (LED?) not functioning. I've unplugged a couple of times, 15 to 30 minutes. Comes on, User Interface beeps, looks normal displaying temps, then SY CF error returns within seconds. I can press menu, all functions on User Interface appear to be working. I turned icemaker off (on interface). Ideas / suggestions??

Battery Bill, For this issue the most likely cause will be the main power board that is faulty and the icemaker would need to be replaced due to that thermistor hanging it most likely shorted and took out the board.

Eddie, This units main board is behind the controls in the refrigerator section but will not control the dispenser. With the dispenser not working this will most likely be a faulty dispenser board 241708202.

Hello Derryk. You will need to check all your wiring on the unit. The error code your getting is for a sync error between the boards. If all the wiring is good, then your next step is replacing the main board 241996363 on the unit.

Dane Hendrickson for Model Number LGUS2642LE2

I have a reoccurring SY CE error code on the front panel...resetting for 15 minutes usually works for a day and then the error comes back. Noticed that the refrigerator is still cooling like it's suppose to but the ice maker, interior lights, water dispenser and ice dispenser are not working. Lights were flickering before the error code popped up. Any ideas which board I should go with first? I have extensive knowledge of circuit diagnostics if you have a way of testing the wiring. Thanks!

Dane, For this error code it is a communication error and would want to start by replacing the dispenser control board 242114904. Unfortunately the manufacture does not give a board breakdown to be able to test it.
