Reindeer for Model Number 253.70419411 or 70419

met y'all a year ago - we will probably be friends forever! I do ALL my out-of-warranty home repairs and your site is a dream come true. Question - Brand new Kenmore 70419 French Door/bottom freezer 28cf mfg date 5-15 @1 month unit began to make frost and snow in the freezer with same on freezer rear wall vent - and slowly warming throughout. Display says upper/lower temps are pretty much staying at setpoint. Digital therm. in freezer and fridge (and mushy ice cream) all say different. So Sears delivered a brand new unit - all is well until yesterday @ two weeks 2nd unit is doing the EXACT same thing. frost/snow warmed then seemed to correct last night. still have ice and frost in freezer but actual temps are now actually @ setpoint (37/-6) I'm an advanced automation tech in the oilfield - I can easily repair but I can't fix poor design. Should we move on to another type/ brand /model ? Thanks for your great web site and the how-to videos are amazing.

Hello Reindeer. You need to look for something blocking the freezer door from closing all the way and making a good seal.

Jennifer for Model Number FGHN2844LF3

Our fridge part of our french door gallery series became very warm back in January. Fridge repair guy came out and changed the fan then. just over a week ago the same problem occurred. same guy came out and felt that the freezer door wasn’t sealing well ( bc he didn’t put back together properly the first time and door wasn’t aligned and I had to pull the seal out to allow any seal to occur), and thought he fixed it. well not even 24 hours later same issue. Here we are over a week later w/o a fridge and he had emailed the company to see what they thought, and now they say the control board. Already spent $300 the first time and wondering what this will cost me now and if that fan was ever the problem in the first place. Its only a 3 year old fridge. Still waiting on pricing form the repair man and when the part may be available etc etc etc.... HELP thank you.

David for Model Number not sure

I have a Frigidaire counter depth side by side stainless refrigerator I bought used and the model number sticker has been removed. The previous owner said that the unit would shut off randomly and that he would unplug and replug the unit. It would turn back on when he plugged it in and run for a few days before shutting off again. I bought it super cheap to fix it and use. I got it to my house and let it sit for a week (transported it on it's side). When I tried to plug it in, it made 3 "beeps" and would not turn on. No lights, no compressor, nothing. When I tried again, no beeps. I pulled the main power board and it says "Electrolux 241511102" I've already ordered the replacement part from you. 1) Does this seem to all be a main power board issue? 2) What else could be causing this?

1 Answer

David, Based on the information provided it does appear that the main control board would be the issue with the unit.

Hello R.B., If unplugging the refrigerator for 5 minutes does not reset the control to factory default, the control will have to be replaced.

Bao Phan for Model Number Counter Depth Elextrolux refrigerator Model# E23CS78GSS2

I heard the bip alarm on my frig. On the panel control, I saw the alarm lamp came on and the High Temp lamp flasing Amber, I pressed the Alarm Reset button to turn off alarm. I saw the Freezer Temp and Fridge Temp rise up to 10F-18F and 60F - 68F respectively. The original set up was 0 F for Freezer and 40F for Fridge. After the reset I did adjust all temperatures I wanted, but after 15-18 minutes I heard the Bip Alarm again. I saw the same thing happen on the control panel. I did contact the Fridge repair man. He told me the Main Power Board needs to be replace. I like to know is it the right thing to do. Electrolux Main Power Board P/N 241511102 can be replaced with Appliance Parts Pros P/N AP3683024. If so, please show me the location of the board and how to replace it. Thanks. Bao

Bao, It is likely the control board would be the issue with the unit and the part number is 241511102. To access the board you simply remove the toe panel at the bottom of the refrigerator and on the middle left side under the unit is where the control is located in a box held in by 1 screw with a 1/4" hexhead.

Dan, The Main control board for your unit can be located by removing the kickplate at the front of the refrigerator and look in the left opening. The control board will be in a black or gray box and will be held in by 1 screw which has a 1/4" hex head.

Raynald, The control box is located underneath the refrigerator. If you remove the kickplate and look under the unit from the front on the left side the control box is there and will be held in by a 1/4" screw.

Ernest, You unit would not have a control board underneath of it. Your unit has one control board which is located in the refrigerator compartment in the control housing. To access this control board you would need to remove the control housing by removing 3 screws under the housing and 2 screws on the housing that goes down the left side. Once this is removed the control board will be located there which is part number 241739710
