Jerry W September 07, 2013 for Model Number FGHS2355KE1 The buttons on my door control panel are locked. When I press any of the buttons nothing changes. It is stuck on "water". I have unplugged the unit and let it set for ten minutes but still is the same. Sometimes I will hear it beeping and I noticed the freezer temperature is cycling from -6 to 2 degrees. Our setting for the freezer temp is 2. Buttons do not work after it cycles either. The ice maker works normal. Any ideas?
1 Answer Jerry, If the red light above the control lock on the unit is lit then you will want to push this button until the light flashes to turn off. If this does not correct then you would need a new dispenser control board. Read More...
Krystal March 04, 2013 for Model Number FGHS2344KF1 part # 5303918498 shows as the correct board for this model, however this is the second time i have had a tech that ordered this part and when they went to put the part in it is not correct, the board is for a d/c compressor and this unit has an inverter. please help, even frigidaire says it's correct.
1 Answer Krystal, Based on the model number provided. This is the correct board per manufacturer and the compressor that you have is a AC compressor. If your unit has a inverter on it then the board will work in conjunction with the inverter to raise the voltage to where it needs to be in order to operate unit. Read More...
Chris November 24, 2012 for Model Number LGHS667KP0 I replaced the board switch because of the refrigerator was not defrosting. When I installed the new part the refrigerator will not come on. At first I thought it was a bad part so I called and another was sent. I am having the same issue with the second part. Do I need to reprogram the new board or something? Please help!
1 Answer Hello Chris, As per the wiring diagram, you need to make sure you have 120Vac on terminals J1-3 and J1-9. If the voltage is there, you should next check for neutral on J1-2, J1-4 and J1-8. Checking for neutral is a bit different in the sense that you have to use line as a reference test point. In other words, instead of testing to ground as you would to test for 120Vac, you will use a known 120Vac line as the point to test to instead of ground. This will read 120Vac if neutral is present. If any of these test points don't give the expected results, there will be an issue before the board. Use of the wiring diagram will help reveal the source of the issue. I really suspect an issue at the board in one of the connectors that plug onto the board. This will have to be located with a test meter unless close visual inspection reveals other wise. There is no programming for this configuration. I was studying the wiring diagram for model number LGHS2667KP0. You will notice this is not the model you listed on the post, but is the closest to the number you listed. If this is not the exact model number you have, you will need to refer to the wiring diagram on the tech sheet for the appliance or look your model number up online. The reason is that if the model isn't exact, the wiring diagram cannot be considered to be valid for your model since the manufacturer changes the wiring configuration for each model number. Dennis June 09, 2012 for Model Number FPHS2699KFI Does this board control the defrost system? where is it located and how do I install it
1 Answer Dennis, You are correct, The main control board / switch board 5303918498 is the defrost system control(among other things as well). It is located on the bottom of the refrigerator compartment in the box, located behing the kickplate grille. You'll need to remove the two screws that hold the retainer clip in place, so you will need a combination wrench / socket to remove the 1/4 in. hex head screws or raise the front of the fridge. Once the clip is removed, you'll need to slide the box out the front, enough to disconnect the harness, then slide the box out the rest of the way and reverse the procedure to install the new part.
