Replacement board-switch that restores control to the appliance's user interface. Replaces a failed switch/control board to help recover unresponsive buttons, inconsistent function selection, or intermittent control operation. What it does:

  • Acts as the control switch board that routes user commands to the appliance control system.
  • Restores responsiveness when touchpads or buttons fail to register inputs or respond intermittently.
  • Helps stop erratic function selection or unexpected cycling tied to a faulty control interface.
  • Interfaces with existing harness and mounting points for a direct replacement fit when the identical part is required.
What's included: One board-switch Install notes:
  • Always disconnect power to the appliance before starting service to prevent shock or damage.
  • Handle the board carefully; avoid flexing the PCB and keep connectors aligned when reinstalling.
  • Use basic hand tools to remove the control panel or cover; verify all connectors are fully seated before testing.

Questions & Answers

For Frigidaire Board-Switch (Control Switch Board) (Part Number: OEM14085648)

1 Answer

Brian, With the freezer keeping good temps chances are there is an issue with the damper opening or the thermister is telling the control the temps are good and not to open the damper. Check the resistance of the thermistor. If temps are 57 the thermistor will read about 16.5k and if temps are 38 the resistance will be 27.5k. 240597220 is the thermistor but if these readings are good then replace the damper. 5303918899

Tim, The inverter board would not cause this issue and this would most likely be caused by a door switch type of issue. The refrigerator compartment has magnetic door switches that one may have failed and would need replaced.

Jan, For this issue, the light should operate on via a sensor on the control panel that is on the side of the door. This membrane would be the most likely cause for this issue.

Error code "sy ef". Evaporator fan runs when I put 12V across Red and Brown wires while giving Yellow Wire 12V as well. Continuity confirmed for all wires from fan plug on harness to plugs at control board. With all connected, have confirmed 12 V across R/W and B/W at control board. B/W seems to be holding steady 5.4V. Y/W sits at around 0.5V and then occasionally rises to 1.5-2.0V and settles back to 0.5V. Fan does not turn and "sy ef" code returns. Is this likely control board or the fan motor (ie, should fan spin with 2V on Y/W or should board be putting out higher voltage on that terminal?) Thanks!

Dan, With the defrost thermostat and the heater being good, this will be a issue with the control board.

Gabe for Model Number fghn2844lp3

I have the error SY EF and the refrigerator portion was not cooling. I pulled the inside back panel of the freezer off and noticed ice in the evaporator coils. I also noticed the defrost thermostat appears to be damaged. When I unplug the fridge and plug it back in, the evaporator fan will spin for a couple of seconds, stop for a little while, then spin again for a couple of seconds and stop again. I replaced the evap fan motor and it does the same thing still and still give the SY EF code. Would it be the main control board, just the defrost thermostat, or something else? Thank you in advance.

Gabe, For this issue with the evaporator fan having already been replaced, this would be a faulty main control board on the unit.

Khai, Yes replacing the main control board should correct the issue with the compressor not running.

Hello Craig, This is the fault code for the evaporator fan motor circuit. This can be the fan motor 809069220, the main control 5303918506, or the harness between the two parts.

Hello Mark. Yes, it sounds like the control board is bad if the thermistor is good. You will need to replace the board on the unit.
