Questions & Answers

For Frigidaire Switch Board (Part Number: OEM14085738)

1 Answer

Karl, The most likely cause for the unit having no power after power surge or the unit tripping the breaker would be a faulty main power control board. The part number for the control board is 5303918538. Even though it has no burning odor or spots that look burnt, this does not entail that the board has not failed.

Thomas, You will want to check the thermistor in the unit to make sure that it is good. If the thermistor checks ok then the control board would be the issue with the unit.

Zoe M for Model Number FGUS2642LFO

I just acquired a side-by-side fridge model FGUS2642LFO and both the fridge and freezer are cooling well and according to the temperature panel are getting to the set temperatures. However, the freezer continuously runs and never shuts off even when it says it has reached the set temp. If you lower the set temperature for the freezer then the compressor will shut off. But as soon as the temperature drops and the unit need to begin cooling again the compressor comes on and will not turn back off unless you lower the desired temperature below the current temperature. So it seems to be getting the signal to turn on when the freezer gets too warm but does not get the signal to turn off when it gets cool enough.

Zoe, You will want to check the thermistors in the unit to make sure that they are reading proper resistance for what the unit temp is and if not then the thermistors would need to be replaced.

Derek B for Model Number LGUS2642LE0

I have a Frigidaire side by side with the thermostat controls on the front next to the ice dispenser. Model # LGUS2642LE0 The temperature on the control panels is set to 0 for the freezer and 36 for the fridge. but on the display it fluctuates between -15 and 5 for the freezer and 60-80 for the fridge. however everything in the fridge is frozen. I just replaced this control panel next to the ice maker and the new one is doing the exact same thing. What else could it be?

Hello Derek. It sounds like the sensor 240597220 is bad and will need to be replaced in the unit. This reads the temp in the unit. If it is good, you will replace the main board 5303918538 in the unit.

Hello Paul. The unit should shut off when you manually put it into defrost and you should see the heater turn on in the unit.

JH, You will need to remove the two screws that hold the front retainer channel to the bottom of the refrigerator. You may have to raise the front of the fridge, enough to remove the two screws or get a 1/4 in. combination wrench or stubby socket. Once the retainer bar is removed , you can slide the box out as far as possible, disconnect the harness and replace the control board. Thanks and Good Luck
