Lokai April 20, 2013 for Model Number FDB61078096 - Frigidaire Upper arm is not turning during wash cycle, it spins freely and is not clogged. Supply tube is not clogged, I cleaned all debris from the system and it had no effect on the upper arm. The arm has water inside and water will flow from the spray holes with very little pressure. I removed the shroud from the circulation pump and the white wheel spins freely, should this wheel spin when moved by hand? Any ideas on next steps?
1 Answer Lokai, I wouldn't start at the wash/pump motor, not yet, anyway. I'm sure you've checked the filter(s) for debris and clogs and there are no detergent or hard water deposits on the screens causing improper water flow through the system. You should check and make sure the dishwasher is filling properly. low water level or slow fill will effect the pump operation and cause the upper spray arms to appear to be inoperable, make sure the float assembly moves up and down freely on the float guide and the water level should be equal to the bottom of the door(at least) after the dishwasher has filled and washed for 5 minutes. Daniel B March 23, 2013 for Model Number 587.16259402 I recently replaced the pump circulation motor on my Kenmore dishwasher with APP PN 154859201. Our dishwasher is running great but Im pretty sure the upper spray arm is not functioning at all. What could cause this? Thanks, Daniel
1 Answer Daniel, You will want to make sure that the check ball is moving freely ad that the cover is not clogged. This is located under the lower spray arm. Read More...
Chris February 18, 2013 My fridgidaire dishwasher starts and fills with water but the motor won't run or sometimes it does and then stops. The weird thing is that if I push the motor it will start again but stops once I let go. The dishwasher stays stuck in the wash cycle the entire time I run it until I cancel it and it drains fine. Today I unplugged the motor and started it and it completed all cycles, would this mean the motor is the problem or could it still be another problem?
1 Answer Hello Chris. Based on the information you provided, the motor is bad and will need to be replaced on the unit. Read More...
Gale January 15, 2013 for Model Number FDB4050LHS1 my dishes are not getting clean and the dishwasher sounds like it wants to go into outspace at the beginning of the cycle. It is suppose to be "quiet". There is a garbage disposal there too.
1 Answer Hello Gale, You will want to check to make sure that there nothing in the pump assembly that would be causing noise and causing the dishes to not be clean. If there is nothing in the pump assembly then you would want to replace the pump. Read More...
Mike F November 23, 2012 for Model Number FDB4050HB1 Frigidaire dishwasher I am running the diagnostic to find my problem and when I pressed the start cancel button to advance it from step one to step 2 the code H5 popped up on display. I cannot find that code anywhere. My dishwasher seems to go thru the cycles but never washes. the water fills in but no wash then after a few minutes it drains out.
1 Answer Mike, It's most likely the "HS" error code. It may look like a "H5". The indication is " The control has sensed a problem with the Hall style sensor in the wash motor." You'll need to check to see if there are any loose or wet connections and the motor wiring connections. You'll need to remove the pump cover and check for obstructions in the sump and motor, and repalce the motor 154859201 if all's OK. Read More...
Lisa November 18, 2012 for Model Number FDB1050REB0 When I turn my dishwasher on, it takes along time for anything to start. When it does start, I hear water dripping inside. Then I hear a pump come on and water pumps out. There is no washing sound. The bottom arm does not move. Water just circulates in and then out. No washing. I doesn't matter what setting it is on. It does the same thing on short wash, rinse only, pots and pans, etc. Do I need a pump? or a timer? or something else? I just don't know what part to get. Thank you.
1 Answer Lisa, Based on your information, the first palce to start, is at the start of the cycle, when the dishwasher fills, if the water level is low, then there won't be enough water to pressurize the pump and circulate the water. Start the dishwasher and allow it to fill and wash for 5 minutes. the unlatch the door and remove the lower dishrack the water level should cover the filter and be 3/4 to 1 inch high on the lower spraty arm support 5304532235 if the water level is not at least that high, it's not filled to the proper level and there's not enough water and pressure in the pump to wash properly, and you'll most likely need a new fill valve 154637401. Robert L. October 31, 2012 Is the circulation pump that makes the water spray throughout the dishwasher? It seems to fill, goes quiet, and then drains. We lost electric due to a storm and the electric stopped and started every few seconds and the problem started alter this. It does get hot and steamy but no water splashing about. Would the circulation pump most likely be my problem? Bob
1 Answer Hi. The circulation pump part # 154859201 does spray the water internally. If the impeller spins loose on the pump shaft then replace it. It will be advantageous to find the supplied tech sheet inside the cabinet to aid you in the diagnosis. It allows you to put the unit in a diagnostic mode which brings up fault codes and tells you which circuit needs assistance. Along with it you will find the wiring diagram that shows the board output to the circulation pump. If the board has no output and the motor lead wires and the motor windings are good then replace the control. Thank You. Read More...
Brad August 30, 2012 for Model Number FDB4050LHS1 Two questions: First, my dishwasher's circulation pump does not turn on while cycling. I tested the connection to the motor and get 120V... but not just when the pump should be cycling, all the time, even when the dishwasher is idle. I'm ignorant as to what dictates the running of the motor, whether the control panel supplied power when needed or if it has something to do with the Hall Sensor attached to the motor. If I jump the Hall sensor, the motor runs. So I would assume it is the pump/motor/hall sensor assembly, however it bothers me that I get 120V from the control panel even when the dishwasher is idle (not cycling under any program). I'm not sure whether to replace the control panel, the pump/motor/hall sensor assembly or both (which seems unlikely). The second question is my model number is FDB4050LHS1, yet the motor p/n is 154683201. The manufacturer's p/n listed on this website for my model number is 154859201, will this one work? Thanks
1 Answer Brad, You do have the correct part number for the motor assembly (154859201) 154859201 the manufacturer has "substituted the original motor to and updated motor assembly,so you're OK, if you need it. At this point, it sounds more like a faulty control board 5304514670, you're not completing the neutral circuit from the control board to the motor. Recheck and make sure the power supply in the junction box behind the kickplate is proper(L1-120 VAC is attached to the Black wire and neutral no VAC is attached to the white wire, and ground to the chassis) and that the connections are good and tight. Chris April 04, 2012 for Model Number 5871525940 The circulation pump motor is very noisy and water is dripping from an unknown location down on to the bracket. Will this problem be addressed with the circulation pump motor kit AP5272390 which includes the seals?
1 Answer Hello Chris. Yes, if the circulation pump 154859201 is leaking from the seal on the unit, then the kit will repair the issue. Hope this helps. Read More...
Crystal December 10, 2011 for Model Number FDB The spray arm for the upper rack no longer receives water. The lower arm sprays with good force, cleaning the dishes, but when I observe the back of the dishwasher (when it's running) I see the water rise to a point about 1/16 of an inch into the inlet hole for the upper spray arm. The delivery tube gasket was worn and was allowing air into the tube but I replaced that without affecting the water rising in the tube.
1 Answer Crystal, I wouldn't start at the wash/pump motor, not yet, anyway.
