  • Coordinates inputs from sensors/controls and directs outputs to motors, valves, pumps, and other loads
  • Manages cycle sequencing and option selections as designed by the manufacturer
  • Symptoms of a failing board can include no start/no response, cycles that won't advance or end early, intermittent/erratic operation, blank or flickering indicators, or recurring error codes
What's included: One printed control board (PCB) Install notes:
  • Disconnect power before servicing; do not work on a live appliance
  • Use ESD protection and handle the board by the edges to avoid damage
  • Photograph existing wiring; move connectors one at a time to the matching positions on the new board

Jeff, The E43 Error code indicates that the control board thinks the door lock is defective. To test this you will need to put the unit into the diagnostic mode. Turn the program knob 8 clicks clockwise from the start position. If the washer spins then the door lock is defective and if the unit does not spin the control board is defective. TO START THE TEST: • Turn the Program Knob to the start position of the cycle furthest to the left. • Press Start/Pause to start the cycle and save it. • Press Cancel to stop the cycle and turn off the LEDs. • Press Cancel again to turn on the LEDs. • Within 5 seconds, press and hold the Options and Start/Pause buttons until LEDs start sequentially chasing, then release buttons. 1. All the LEDs will sequentially light. Pressing a button below a light cluster will light all the LEDs in that cluster at one time to confirm functionality. 2. Turn the program knob (1) click clockwise from the start position. The hot water solenoid will activate and hot water should enter through the detergent compartment. 3. Turn the program knob (2) clicks from the start position. The bleach water solenoid will activate and cold water should enter through the bleach compartment. 4. Turn the program knob (3) clicks from the start position. The bleach and the wash water solenoids will activate and cold water should enter through the softener compartment. 5. Turn the program knob (4) clicks from the start position. The door lock solenoid will deactivate and the loading door can be opened. When the door is opened, the drum light should turn on. 6. Turn the program knob (5) clicks from the start position. The washer will fill and tumble. Once tumbling has started, the Boost Heater (if so equipped) will turn on. 7. Turn the program knob (6) clicks from the start position. The drain pump & door lock solenoid will activate and the washer will operate in high spin. SAFETY WARNING: If power is removed during this test, the door can be opened. To prevent injury, DO NOT put your hands inside when the tub is rotating. 8. Turn the program knob (7) clicks from the start position. The control will signal the last error code. Exiting Diagnostic Mode There are two options for exiting the Diagnostic Test mode and returning the washer to normal operation: a) Unplug the power cord, wait 5-8 seconds, then reconnect the power cord OR b) Turn the program knob clockwise 2 or 3 clicks after the start position. Press Options and Start/Pause buttons together for a few seconds until wash cycle LEDs appear. If a situation arises where you cannot exit the Diagnostic mode as described above and the bank of 5 LED’s on the right end remain ON regardless of Program Knob position, a combination of pushed buttons may have caused the control to enter a special factory test mode. Disconnect power to reset the control to return washer to normal operation is this occurs.

Hello Jeff. You need to check and see if the noise is coming from the water valve 134371220 on the unit. If so, and no water is coming in, it sounds like the valve will need to be replaced. Check and make sure the screens are not clogged on the water valve or the hoses and the water pressure is good out of the hoses.

Susie, First remove power to the washer, move the washer out so you can access and remove the screws across the back of the top panel. Slide the top panel back a few inches, until the front tabs release the top, and set it aside. Remove the(2)screws, one on each end, holding the console to the top of the side panels. Remove the(3) screws behind the detergent drawer panel. Lift the(3) tabs to release the top of console from the mounting plate. Roll the console forward, while lifting up to release the bottom tabs from the front panel. Unplug and label the wiring harness from the control panel and lift the panel off the console. Removing the electronic control: Disconnect the washer from the electrical supply and remove the console. 2. Lay the console on a soft flat surface, remove the (5) screws holding the control to the console. Lift the control out of the console.

Steven for Model Number FAFW3001LW5

MY washer is only a few months old and this is the second time it has broken. The water runs in the washer in several times a few seconds at a time. While the water is running in the barrel will make about 2 rounds then the water stops and the barrel stops turning until the water starts to run again. This happens from 44 to 42 on the timer then the timer goes back to 44 and sits there for a while then cuts off. It doesn't give an error code. Thanks

Jenny, You will want to test the door switch with it in place. Close the door and access the main control board. Disconnect the plug from the j2 connection on the main board and check for continuity between the pins in the plug. If open, check the door strike. If this checks ok then replace the door switch and if it shows closed then check the main control board.
